The RACE IS ON, and Integrity Company has taken the lead displaying the most SPIRIT this week! GREAT JOB CADETS!

The Honor Company competition is the Battalion Commander's program that assists the Commander in obtaining data for the Continuous Improvement Plan implemented annually. Each year, the Cadet Leadership develops a plan in an effort to improve the unit based on data and feedback gathered from the Cadets who participate in JROTC. This year's Commander, C-LTC Anthony Pedro has driven his leadership to strive to support his vision by developing a Company Improvement Plan to support the Battalion vision noted below.

The Leadership Corps is doing a wonderful job working through this process. Monday, the planning starts for Service Learning and Continuous Improvement where each Company will identify their staff members and go forward with planning projects and events that support his Vision; to learn what it takes to serve as a Staff Officer/NCO; how to Lead Meetings; and the Army Leadership Model.

Next week we will host Cadet Boards and take Cadet Portraits on Thursday. Get your resumes in today, its the final day to submit for the boards. Late submissions will not be accepted.

The Fountain-Fort Carson High-school JROTC Raider team competed head-to-head in 6 different events at the Falcon High-school Raider meet.

Consisting of a 3K run, obstacle course, push-ups/sit-ups, archery, pull-ups/flexed arm hang, and rope bridge.

Our Mixed 1 Raider team won 1st place in the obstacle course, 1st place in rope bridge, got 2nd place in the archery event, and 2nd place in the 3K run. Our mixed team 2 got 2nd place in the pull-ups/flexed arm hang and 3rd place in the 3K run.

The following Cadets won an individual award: Cadet Villarreal won 1st place in the sit-ups event doing 89 in just 1 minute. As well as Cadet Skipper who got 2nd place in the sit-ups. Lastly Cadet Vincent got 2nd place in the 3K run.

The Fountain-Fort Carson High School JROTC Archery Team competed in its first meet of the season, going up against teams from across Colorado. Our team also teamed up with Pueblo County for a shoulder-to-shoulder match, putting teamwork, focus, and skill to the test.

The Trojan JROTC Battalion hosted the Cadet Boards for the month of September. Promotion boards were hosted during each class at the Company level. After school, the senior leaders of the Battalion hosted the Cadet of the Month (COM) competition where members of each Company competed for the Cadet of the Month from each Leadership Education Level (LET). Winners of the COM are: Lillian Ramsland, Inho Lee, Silas Sallaway, Aiden Marrero

38 cadets from Fountain Fort-Carson High-school Trojan Battalion volunteered for the 8th Annual Colorado Run for the Fallen. Each mile ran was dedicated to a fallen hero from the War of Terror, whose names and rank were read aloud followed by a ceremonial salute.

Run For The Fallen is hosted by the Honor and Remember organization, this organization recognize the sacrifice of America's military fallen service members and their families. The organization pays tribute to all military lives lost, not only while serving on active duty but also as a result of serving. Military deaths in all wars or conflicts and all branches of service from our nation's inception are recognized.

Today, the color guard from Fountain Fort Carson JROTC supported the flag football game by presenting the colors for the national anthem. Today's color guard were armed with sabres and led by Cadet LTC Anthony Pedro.

This was the sixth color performance of the week demonstrating the dedication to duty by the cadets of our program.

Today, the Fountain-Fort Carson JROTC program performed and Patriot Day Ceremony in memory of the victims killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. The dedication ceremony is dedicated to the 2,977 people who died in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
It honors the bravery of first responders and rescue workers who rushed into danger while reflecting on the national unity and patriotism shown by Americans in the wake of the tragedy.
The U.S. flag is flown at half-staff while the school staff and students observed a moment of silence while Taps was played through the halls by trumpeters of the Fountain-Fort Carson to pay tribute to those who were lost 25 years ago today.
