I haven’t shared my bare face on here where y’all can REALLY see what I’ve been battling for almost two years now.
And this is it TAME! 😅 This is with minimal sun exposure, and you can imagine how much effort that takes with a small farm, four kids, and living in FLORIDA!
But it’s more than how it looks. It gets tender, it itches, and for almost two years I’ve tried just about everything. I thought it was acne, then bacterial, even fungal. I threw out makeup, brushes, switched to gentle cleansers… you name it.
But I’m learning this is about so much more than a rash on my face.
As much as I preach about stewarding the ecosystems on our land, somewhere along the way I forgot to treat my own body with that same intentional care.
At the center of it all will ALWAYS be my relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritual health comes first. But caring for my gut, my mind, and my physical body matters too.
Somewhere along the way, I accepted survival mode as a way of life.
And I don’t want to live there anymore.
So I’m slowly bringing back things I KNOW have helped me feel better in the past, paying closer attention to what my body needs, and letting go of habits that aren't serving me well.
There’s more to this story than a rash on my face. This is just the part y’all can SEE.
And no, this isn’t about chasing a smaller body or a number on the scale. It’s about stepping fully into the God-given role of steward.
I’m no longer willing to simply accept everything life throws at me without being intentional about how I respond. I’m choosing to care for what God has entrusted to me.
Not through obsession. Not through striving. And certainly not through another season of hustle disguised as health.
But gently, steadily, and intentionally.
