Spring city arts is at it again. Wednesday thru Friday 12-5 Saturday 10-5 this week and next week. Dec 6th-15th. The gallery is open with local vendors and artisans. Come check out unique gifts for yourself or others. Pictured is my spot with our unique wool wreaths, wool art batts, wool roving, some merino yarn, and sheep art. Come check it out! All the wool comes from our sheep and is processed and dyed by us! Thanks for the support. (Spring City art gallery is located across from roots 89 grill on main street.)

Wow it's been a while since I posted last. How time flies. Here are some things we've been up to. MIG grazing our sheep. We don't have permits on the mountain. We use private ground in the valley to run our sheep on. Management intensive grazing or rotational grazing helps to benefit the soil in so many ways. It spreads out manure. It keeps our sheep on fresh feed always. It reduces parasites. It incourages life in the soil by keeping a living root there for microorganisms to thrive. It's a win-win. We've weaned our lambs. They were about 3-4 months in age. We have also been planting plenty of cover crops. This seed mix had sorghum, radishes, turnips, teff, buck wheat, and millet. I can't wait to see what it does. We are trying to improve our farm by improving the soil so we can grow the best crops to produce the most fantastic lambs and wool!

Today we (and I use we very lightly we all know who did the shearing) harvested this year's natural colored roving and yarn crop! Can't wait to get going on it! It's so exciting to take a resource from start to finish and have that connection with the people who use our wool for their projects.

Have you ever wondered the steps from wool roving to hand spun yarn? I did. I am working and learning but it is quite satisfying to make something with your own fiber! I think it turned out really well.
