Congratulations to Mrs. Kelly Bennett and her Cosmetology class, which is our Afternoon Company of the Week for this week!

Also, congratulations to Jason Cook, whose classmates selected him as our Afternoon Employee of the Week for this week!

Jason and his classmates organized and operated the highly successful Princess Makeover and Tea Party event last weekend. They also have learned foiling and highlighting techniques along with perfecting their braids, roller sets, perm wraps and formal hairstyles.

Congratulations to Mr. Bobby Miller and his Practical Assessment Exploration System class, which is our Morning Company of the Week for this week!

Also, congratulations to Katie Roberts, whose classmates selected her as our Morning Employee of the Week for this week!

Katie and her classmates collaborated with our Building Maintenance and Operations students to help the Wildwood Garden Club with a pair of landscaping projects in Madison. They also used it as an opportunity to pick up trash around the city. What an excellent example of community service!

Congratulations to Boone Career and Technical Center post-secondary student Cameron Wilson, who has achieved a historic accomplishment!

Cameron is the second post-secondary student since at least 1999 (and possibly the second in school history) to earn all of the Welding certifications offered by the Boone Career and Technical Center — 10 in all!

Cameron now is pipe- and/or plate-certified in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).

Cameron has thrived under the tutelage of Boone Career and Technical Center post-secondary Welding instructor Brandon Geer.

Well done, Cameron and Mr. Geer!

Students, please begin bringing in your Trunk or Treat candy to earn community service hours.

You will earn half an hour for a one-pound bag, one hour for a two-pound bag, one and a half hours for a three-pound bag, two hours for a four-pound bag, and two and a half hours for a five-pound bag.

Students, you can earn up to 10 hours of community service hours for donating candy. You also will earn four hours for setting up, participating in, and cleaning up the event that day.

Our fourth annual Trunk or Treat is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
