🌟 OPEN TO THE PUBLIC & ALL AREA STUDENTS! 🌟

The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts high school dance company students are excited to host a Mini Dance Camp for all elementary and middle school dancers. Participants will learn fun dance combinations, explore different styles, and build confidence. This camp is a great opportunity for young dancers to learn, move, create, and have fun while working with FWAFA’s high school dancers.

It will be at FWAFA (3901 S Hulen St, Fort Worth, TX 76109) on September 12th from 10am-1:15pm.

Calling all high school dancers! Join us for a partnering class taught by current Dance Theatre of Harlem company members, Julian Cottrell and Alexandra R. Jones. Class is located at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts' Dance studios at 3901 S. Hulen St, Fort Worth, TX 76109. Studio will open at 4PM for dancers to warm themselves up.

When: Friday, September 4
Studio Opens: 4PM
Time: 4:30-6PM
Cost: $20
Open to: 9th-12th grade dancers from any school/studio

Cottrell is a Fort Worth native and graduate of Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. After earning his degree in Ballet Performance from the University of Oklahoma, he joined Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2025.

Jones trained in her home state of Indiana as well as in many prestigious ballet company summer programs. She graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Ballet with an Outside Field in Kinesiology, Minor in Psychology, & EMT Certification through the National Registry. She is in her fourth season with Dance Theatre of Harlem.

While we may be posting this a day late, the importance of this milestone never fades! August 26th marked Texas Women's Independence Day, the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which officially granted some women the right to vote in the United States.

At the Texas Center for Arts + Academics, we honor the historical trailblazers who fought for equality and celebrate the progress we have made since 1920. Here’s to a future of continued progress and opportunity for all women!

TCA+A is thrilled to celebrate major growth across our schools this year, with TeSA leveling up to a B (up 2 points!) and FWAFA holding strong at a B with a 3-point leap in secondary scores!
Texas public charter schools are evaluated under the exact same A–F standards as traditional public school districts. Overall, public charter schools mirror statewide district trends: the vast majority (over 80%) achieve a C or higher, with more than half earning an A or B.

Many thanks to the Ann L. & Carol Green Rhodes Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee for a recent grant of $25,000 to help TCA+A begin to replace the seating in the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts theater. The current seating is ready for a well-deserved retirement. We look forward to hosting you in new, clean, sturdy, comfortable seating soon. Watch for updates!
