A big shout-out to Dr. Kristi Kway, who matched into the prestigious Rheumatology Fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine. A 2022 TCOM grad, Dr. Kway completed her internal medicine residency with our friends at Baylor Scott & White Health in Fort Worth in 2025. Congratulations, Dr. Kway!

The “crown jewel” of patient safety is right here in Fort Worth. Since we launched the Certified Professional in Patient Safety Course with our friends at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement - IHI in 2019, TCOM has been a leader in health care, focused on addressing the systemic causes of medical error. Discover how we are doing it! 👇

A pair of TCOM graduates taking care of families by the Red River are now chief residents! We salute Dr. Yaseen Ahmad, who was chosen as the chief resident at his family medicine residency at Texoma Medical Center, while Dr. Nathaniel Perez was chosen as the junior chief. Congratulations to both!

It was a robust year of enrichment for students who are part of our Med Excel program. There were a variety of activities and opportunities to grow for the 73 TCOM students and we recently celebrated all of their highlights. Sensational work done by our team from the Office of Medical Student Success.

It was a sprint, a jog, a run, a relay race, and maybe even a marathon, but the nearly 11-month stretch for this group of medical students is over. Our class of 2029 started in July and ends today. What a great year of growth, learning, and experiences they had, but it’s time to level up. You are now OMS II. Congratulations!

Like so many others during COVID-19, Anatalie Nguyen was bored. She found an outlet and her boredom has turned into an incredible talent for digital artwork. This multifaceted TCOM student has an eye for anime and a heart for her future patients. See how she’s bringing them both together.

We are ready to welcome TCOM’s Class of 2030 to the family in just over a month, and you can help welcome them by participating in the TCOM Stethoscope Program. We are only a handful of stethoscopes away from reaching our goal, and you can make that happen with a generous donation today!

A pair of TCOM graduates is on the rise! Dr. Mackenzie Elwart, a 2022 TCOM graduate, will be one of only two chief surgical residents at Texas Health Fort Worth, while Dr. Zachary Tavallaee from our class of 2024 will be a chief resident at his emergency medicine residency with CHRISTUS Health. Congratulations!
