South Campus Pre-Med Professionals Club
Our club is for any TCC student looking for a post-graduate program centered around any medical field. Pharmacy, dentistry, veterinarian and of course MD.
The Pre-Medical Professions Club is to provide information to interested students, and help students maintain a focus on their career goal. The Club is to provide oppurtunities to a variety of aspects pertaining to medicine, including medical school, pharmacy school, physician assistant school, dental school, and other post-graduate medical training.
I (Martha Gilchrist) recently was emailed a job opportunity which might interest pre-med or pre-physical therapy students. I copied the text of the announcement below:
My name is Haley. I am an energetic, outgoing, young professional
living in the downtown Fort Worth area. I have a form of Muscular
Dystrophy and am in need of some care workers to help me with my
activities of daily living so I can continue to be independent. This
position would begin early August of 2021. This would include personal
cares (i.e. showering, dressing, bathrooming), cooking, minor
household chores, and ultimately helping me to live my life as
independently as possible!
If you can check off most of the following, I would love to add you to my
team:
• Able to pass a background check
• Reliable and Punctual
• Proactive
• Flexible
• Strong Communication Skills
• Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• No experience is necessary! On the job training is provided.
Shifts are available early morning, dinnertime, evening and overnight.
This role is a great job for students to easily work around class
schedules. It also qualifies for hours towards graduate-level programs
including but not limited to Physician’s Assistant, Nursing, Physical Therapy,
Occupation Therapy, and Medical School.
I prefer to put overnight and morning shifts together for my caregivers’
convenience.
If you have questions or are interested, you can contact me at
[email protected]. Please include a resume, brief paragraph
describing yourself, and your current availability!
