The Woman's Club of Fort Worth Empowering the Fort Worth woman since 1923. The Woman's Club of Fort Worth is one of the city's oldest membership clubs.

Founded in 1923 by eleven study clubs, several of which were formed before 1900, The Woman’s Club is made up of 50 clubs and departments with the purpose of “the cultural and civic advancement of our community and the promotion of the study of literature, history, science, painting, music and other fine arts.” We provide our members with a network of influential women in business, philanthropy, and community leadership.

Anna Shelton (August 20, 1861 - August 28, 1939) was an American businesswoman who founded several women's clubs in Fort Worth, Texas, most notably The Woman's Club of Fort Worth. She was active in Fort Worth's park league, the Fort Worth Library Association, Mary Isham Keith Chapter DAR, and the Fort Worth Art Association.

Recognizing that she, as a single woman, had the advantage of sole ownership of her property, she mastered real estate law and banking practices and started buying and selling real estate for profit in the late 1890s. She ultimately became one of Fort Worth's first female real estate developers and homebuilders, a successful venture that gave her a reputation as a shrewd businesswoman. Among other projects, Shelton was responsible for building a number of homes in the Fairmount neighborhood in Fort Worth's Near Southside.

Anna Shelton was truly a woman ahead of her time, and her legacy of The Woman's Club of Fort Worth has endured through generations of Fort Worth women.

Welcoming Our New President: Sheila Jane Reynolds
The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth (“TWCFW”) is overjoyed to welcome Sheila Jane Reynolds as our 44th President! With a deep love for our Club and a lifelong connection to Fort Worth—where she still lives in her cherished childhood home—Sheila brings 34 years of devotion, resilience, and compassion to her term.

A Legacy of Heart and Service
Sheila’s journey with us spans over three decades of wonderful memories and leadership:
• Junior Woman’s Club President (1999–2000): A time she remembers fondly, largely thanks to an Executive Committee that stood by her through thick and thin.
• Executive Advisor to the Junior Woman’s Club (2013–2015): Guiding the Club with wisdom and steady leadership.
• Community Spirit: Active in Jewel Charity, The Garden Club, and The Lecture Foundation.

Strength, Passion, and Lifelong Learning
Sheila’s life is a beautiful reflection of resilience and joy. A TCU Criminal Justice graduate, former Fort Worth Police Crime Analyst, and current Licensed Private Investigator, she has always championed justice. She is also a survivor of sexual assault and proudly celebrates nearly 19 years of sobriety—a journey of strength that shapes her empathy today.
When she isn't leading, Sheila loves traveling with friends, practicing yoga (which she taught for three years through CERA), and diving back into learning Spanish, a skill she first embraced during missionary work in Mexico at age 15. She shares her life with her husband of 26 years, Randy, their beautiful blended family, and two precious, joyful Bichons named Biscuit and Lucy.

Bright Hopes for Our Future
Sheila loves this Club with all her heart and wants only the best for it. Over the next two years, she is focusing on three positive, growth-oriented goals:
1. Growing and Retaining Members: Welcoming new friends while cherishing long-time members.
2. Nurturing Financial Health: Securing a strong future for this beloved organization.
3. Boosting Community Recognition: Sharing the light of TWC with all of Fort Worth.
