Come meet other Great Hearts families and enjoy some outdoor fun after school! Once the carline is complete, please park in the school lot or on nearby streets (please avoid parking on Harris Parkway) and head to the playground area.

Feel free to bring a chair, bubbles, balls, or anything else to make the afternoon extra fun! Restrooms will be available.

Important Notes:

· This event is intended for Lower School scholars.

· All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

· School staff will not be supervising.

· Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming – Let’s Show Some Love!

Teacher Appreciation Week is just around the corner (May 4-8), and our amazing parent committee is already planning a week full of treats, meals, surprises, and heartfelt moments to celebrate our incredible LOWER SCHOOL staff!

We’d love your help in two key ways:
1. Donate Items:
Check out our Sign-Up Genius to see how you can contribute. From snacks to supplies, every donation helps make the week extra special!
Item drop-off will be April 27–May 1 (unless otherwise noted) – details are in the sign-up.

2. Notes of Appreciation:
Encourage your scholars to write or draw notes for as many staff members as they would like! These personal messages mean so much. Templates will be sent home the week prior to TA Week.
Please drop them in the BOOM BOX BEAT DROPS located in the lower school foyer during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8). Any additional cards can also be dropped in the grade level / specials boxes and will be delivered.

We’re excited to make this a week to remember for our hard-working, dedicated teachers.

Vote Top Teacher: Christen Miller Berlanga

Fort Worth Magazine is accepting nominations for its annual public and private school Top Teachers award. Great Hearts Lakeside has earned accolades for Zachary Lycans (7th grade, 2025), Jensine Caranto (K-2 music, 2022), and Courtney McCartney (3rd grade, 2021). With your support, we can honor a special teacher again this year!

After polling a sample of parents, we ask that you join us in nominating Christen Miller Berlanga (3rd grade lead teacher) or your own favorite teacher to be Fort Worth Top Teacher. You can vote each day between now and March 27.

Mrs. Berlanga joined Great Hearts Lakeside in 2021 as a fourth-grade teacher before transitioning to third grade. From day one, she intuitively understood children and the unique learning needs of her diverse scholars. Mrs. Berlanga earned a degree from Oklahoma State University and is a proud working mother of three beautiful daughters.

Great Hearts Lakeside administration praises Mrs. Berlanga stating, "She exudes joy throughout her classroom and our campus! She holds intentional conversations to empower her students and colleagues to seek the truth, good, and beauty each day as she genuinely cares about our Lakeside community."
