Looking ahead: Senior Sunrise and New-to-Nolan Catholic Student Orientation are both Tuesday, August 11, and the first day of school is Wednesday, August 12.

With the first day of school (Wednesday, August 12) just around the corner, here's what families need to know:
Class schedules are available now on the parent portal. Drop-off and pick-up procedures, along with campus maps for new families, can also be found there. Find the Nolan Catholic High School app in the app store or the Google Play store for all the information you may need.
And a reminder for incoming freshman families — Freshman Orientation is Tuesday, August 11.

To our Nolan Catholic families —

We can't wait to welcome you back to campus for Esto Dux Nights this Wednesday, August 5 or Thursday, August 6! Come whichever night works best for your family — the schedule is the same both nights.

Doors to the Arena open at 6:10 PM — you won't want to miss the Welcome at 6:30 PM with Principal Susan LoCoco and President Clint Weber.

Here's how the evening will go:
6:10 PM – Arena doors open
6:30 PM – Welcome in the Arena
6:45 PM – Freshman families stay in the Arena; sophomore, junior, and senior families are dismissed to explore campus
6:50–7:15 PM – Freshman Parent Orientation in the Arena
7:15 PM – Freshman families dismissed
From 6:50–8:30 PM, there's plenty to do across campus:
🅿️ Parking passes, locker info, and lock distribution in the Gym
🤝 Clubs, athletic coaches, and parent volunteer groups in the Commons — a great chance to learn how to get involved
📖 Academic, Campus Ministry, and uniform FAQs plus yearbook distribution in the Library
👕 The Nolan Spirit Store, open in the Library, for Nolan-approved sweatshirts

Food trucks will be out in the circle drive both nights — Kona Ice each evening, plus La Pasadita Taco and Burrito Truck on Wednesday and El Texano Burger and Hotdog Truck on Thursday. Cash, credit, and Apple Pay are accepted.

Please note: Meet the Vikings, which was originally scheduled for August 7, has been integrated into Esto Dux Nights this year. There is no separate Vikings Live event.

At Nolan Catholic, affordability comes through several pathways — tuition assistance, sibling discounts, and support through the Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) program, which helps eligible families offset the cost of a Nolan Catholic education.

What a great night kicking off our Middle School Football season! 🏈
Our Parent Information and Meet the Coaches Night was a hit — great turnout, great energy, and a first look at the season ahead as we prepare for excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in character.
First practice is 8/17, and it's not too late to join! Students in grades 6–8 are eligible. Sign up at the athletics table during your campus's Meet the Teacher or Welcome Back Night.

This summer, a group of Nolan Catholic students had the trip of a lifetime — an educational journey through Italy that brought their faith, their history books, and centuries of art to life.

Their itinerary read like a highlight reel of Western civilization and Catholic heritage:

🇮🇹 Rome — the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum
⛪ Vatican City — the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica
🕊️ Assisi — the Basilica of St. Francis
🎨 Florence — the Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore), the Medici Palace, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Accademia Gallery
⛪ Padua — the Basilica of St. Anthony
🚤 Venice — St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace

From praying where St. Francis once walked to standing beneath Michelangelo's ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, our students experienced firsthand how faith and culture have shaped the world for centuries.
