Summer is almost upon us! For rising Senior and Junior students, summer often brings sun, fun, and visits to prospective colleges. College Visits 101: Maximizing Your Time On Each Campus

Thank you to our amazing TVS alums who returned to campus this morning to share their wisdom and answer questions about the college transition with our seniors.

The College 101 Program with special guest Dr. John Mark Day continues... this morning, with seniors.

Nestled on 137 natural wooded acres in Portland’s southwest hills, Lewis & Clark College has a beautiful campus. Among its many hallmarks, the college is committed to interdisciplinary academic learning, community engagement, and sustainability in Portland and beyond for its 2,000 undergraduate students.

The University of Puget Sound is just a short bike ride away from the Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. It is a small, residential, liberal arts college of 2,500 students that focuses on self-expression, collegiality, and sustainability. It's a beautiful campus with hundreds of evergreen trees.

In case you thought we only toured the outside of buildings, let’s take a peak inside a few! These pics showcase the chapel, a residence hall, the student rec center, and the Engineering building. (You guys! Do you see that!?! It is a FLIGHT SIMULATOR. Mrs. Timson is hoping to stay strong and not sneak out of her room tonight to test it out while pretending she is a Jedi pilot in a x-wing fighter racing towards the Death Star. The Force is strong with Mrs. Timson.)

While the UD campus has quite a large footprint, the main academic corridor and residential facilities are all fairly close together and easily accessible. There is ample green space for students to stretch out and enjoy as well.

Greetings from the University of Dayton! Mrs. Timson and 45 of her closest college counseling friends arrived this afternoon in Dayton, OH to see and learn more about this Marianist university, one of three in the nation “committed to educating the whole person and linking learning and scholarship with leadership and service.” UD is a beautiful campus rooted in the Catholic faith and community. More pics of campus, including Mrs. Timson’s critically necessary shots of the landscaping, to follow. For now, enjoy views of the Admissions office, on campus upperclass student housing (yep...those houses are where students actually live) and more green transportation devices!

Situated in Spartanburg, SC, Wofford College is a small independent liberal arts college of 1,700 students. One of the smallest NCAA Division I colleges in the nation with championship teams in football, baseball, and basketball, it is also known for its international programs and its Center for Community-Based Learning.
