The VA claims process can feel confusing and overwhelming, especially when you're trying to figure out if you're taking the right steps. Having guidance along the way can help make the process easier to understand.

As a fellow veteran, Iโ€™m here to provide support and education throughout the journey. Together, we can:
Break down confusing VA terms and processes
Review how your records reflect your service and conditions
Help you avoid common mistakes that can slow things down

Your 100% P&T rating isn't just a safety net for youโ€”itโ€™s a debt-free college ticket for your family.

When you achieve a 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) rating, the benefits extend directly to your family through the Chapter 35 DEA program.

This benefit provides monthly, tax-free cash payments directly to your dependents to help cover college, trade school, apprenticeships, or certification courses. Children can typically use it between ages 18 and 26, and spouses have a generous window to apply as well.

Your family sacrificed right alongside you. Don't leave this educational funding on the table.

Have your dependents taken advantage of Chapter 35 yet? Make sure your family gets what they qualify for. โœ๏ธ

MYTH: "You can only claim physical conditions that were explicitly treated in a military hospital during active duty."
FACT: You can claim conditions that developed or worsened during service, even if you never went to medical. Lay statements, buddy letters, and post-service medical records can prove your case.

No medical records from active duty? That doesn't mean your claim is dead on arrival.
Weโ€™ve all heard it: "If itโ€™s not in your service treatment records, it didnโ€™t happen." In the professional world of VA claims, that logic fails. While a perfect paper trail makes things easier, a lack of military hospital records isnโ€™t an automatic denial. The VA is legally required to look at the total picture. If you can provide solid personal statements, eyewitness accounts from your old unit, and a clear medical nexus today, you can bridge that gap.

Let's look past the blank pages and build a strategy based on the evidence we can gather today. โœ๏ธ

If you breathed in toxic smoke downrange, the PACT Act means you no longer have to fight the VA to prove it.

For years, Vets exposed to open-air burn pits were routinely denied because proving a direct medical link was nearly impossible.

The PACT Act changed the game. Under presumptive service connection, you do not need to prove a nexus. If you have a diagnosis for a qualifying condition (like asthma, rhinitis, or certain cancers) and served in a covered zone after 1990 or 2001, the VA presumes the military caused it.

Stop fighting to build a link the law already grants you. Secure your diagnosis and file.
Did you serve in a covered toxic exposure zone? Letโ€™s check if your condition is on the list. โœ๏ธ

Stop comparing your 10% to your buddyโ€™s 50%โ€”here is why they are different. ๐Ÿค
The VA uses over 800 diagnostic codes to evaluate Veterans. Each one has its own set of rules. While one condition might be rated on how often you have a "flare-up," another is rated purely on a measurement of degrees using a goniometer.
Understanding the "why" behind your rating criteria is the first step to a successful claim. You need to know if the VA is looking for frequency, range of motion, or social impairment so you can provide the exact evidence they require.
Don't guess what the rater needs. Let's look at the criteria together and build a plan that fits your specific diagnosis.
Do you know the specific criteria for your primary claim? Let's figure it out. โœ๏ธ

For some, every day is Memorial Day. ๐Ÿค
Today, our hearts are with the families who have an empty seat at the table. We honor the heroes who didn't make it home and the brothers and sisters-in-arms who carry their memories. Their legacy lives on through us, in our stories and our gratitude.
Take a moment today to share the name of a hero you are remembering. ๐Ÿค

Donโ€™t let the fear of losing your paycheck stop you from claiming your benefits. ๐Ÿค
One of the biggest misconceptions in the community is that a high VA rating means you canโ€™t have a career. In reality, schedular ratings (0%โ€“100%) are based on your medical impairment, not your employment status. You earned those benefits through service; your current success doesn't cancel out your past sacrifices.
Let's get you the rating you deserve without compromising your career goals. โœ๏ธ

Did a condition you had before the military get worse because of your time in uniform? That is called 'Aggravation. ๐Ÿค

You donโ€™t always need a brand-new injury to qualify for VA benefits. If you entered service with a pre-existing conditionโ€”like flat feet or a minor back issueโ€”and your military duties made it worse, you may be eligible for service connection through aggravation.

Here is what you need to prove:
The Baseline: Your entrance physical must show the condition existed before you joined.
The Increase: You must show that the condition worsened beyond its natural progression because of your service.
The Nexus: A medical professional must provide an opinion that your military service "aggravated" the condition.

The VA is responsible for the "added" disability caused by your service. Don't assume that because it started before you enlisted, it isn't compensable today.

Are you dealing with an old injury that the military made worse? Letโ€™s talk about your next steps. โœ๏ธ

To those who are far from home today so we can be safe in ours, thank you. ๐Ÿค
Armed Forces Day is our chance to show appreciation for the men and women currently serving. We know the sacrifices made by both the service members and the families who wait for them. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.
Tag someone currently serving and let them know we are grateful for their service today.

You aren't alone in this fightโ€”thousands of Veterans are navigating these same challenges today.

While every Veteranโ€™s journey is personal, the data shows that PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety are the most common conditions cited in VA claims. These aren't just "feelings"; they are serious health conditions that impact your work, your relationships, and your peace of mind.

Itโ€™s important to remember that the VA treats mental health differently than physical injuries. Because many symptoms overlap, the VA typically bundles them into a single rating based on how much they interfere with your daily life.

Whether you are dealing with one of these or a combination, the first step is getting a formal diagnosis and acknowledging the impact. Youโ€™ve taken care of your team; now itโ€™s time to take care of yourself.

Which of these has been the hardest for you to talk about? I'm here to listen. โœ๏ธ
