Why Pop-Up Parties in Empty Structures Cause Severe Disruptions
What are these so-called parties and how are FW residents and Fort Worth Police responding to discourage this activity keeping neighborhoods safe?
❓️First, What is a Pop-Up Party?
Organized rapidly through social media, these types of gatherings cause property damage, extreme disruptions and place a strain on law enforcement. Sudden influx of peoples and vehicles block neighborhood streets, disrupt by operating late into the early morning hours as well as severely impacting residents’ ability to carry normal home life routines.
Trespassing: Entering a property without the consent of the owner’s permission is a crime.
Vandalism: Entering into a property without the consent of the owner is considered breaking and entering.
Theft: using the water resources of the vacant bldg. without payment is theft.
Strain on 1st responders: due to the illicit activities that can occur such as illegal gathering, underage drinking, assaults, fighting, drug use, etc police, fire and ambulances run the risk of being blocked entry due to excessive vehicle parking, unable to render help.
✅️What Can Property Owners Do to Prevent an illegal Gathering:
If you are the property owner of an empty structure inside neighborhoods, FWPD encourages reviewing structures of any broken door locks, broken windows. Install noise sensors, outdoor cameras, lock utility panels, install smart locks and most importantly enlist neighbor support by establishing communications with HOAs but especially nearby residents. Deploy remote deterrents such as fire alarms to create an unbearable ear piercing to force an evacuation. "To keep our neighborhood safe, neighbors near empty buildings are encouraged to keep an eye out for sudden crowds. If you notice an unusual influx of cars or pedestrians, please report it right away. Try to observe exactly where the traffic is heading so we can provide accurate details to local law enforcement. Contact your Neighborhood Patrol Officer to provide contact information.
If you own a vacant bldg, the FWPD recommends taking these proactive steps to keep it secure:
Inspect the Exterior: Regularly check the location for signs of illegal entry, broken windows or damaged door locks.
Upgrade Technology: Install smart locks, outdoor security cameras, and noise sensors.
Secure Utilities: Lock up your utility panels to prevent unauthorized access.
Build a Network: Partner with nearby neighbors and the local HOA to keep eyes on the property.
Stay Connected: Share your contact details with your Neighborhood Patrol Officer.
What Can Residents Do to Discourage this type of activity from occurring in the neighborhood?
Monitor social media chatter. Keep an eye out for flyers advertising Pop-Up parties locations.
🚨Unusual Property Activity: Call in to FWPD non-emergency (817) 392-4222 to report unusuall heavy foot traffic, influx of unfamiliar vehicles, and location of empty structure.
Traffic surges: Foot or vehicular, report to FWPD immediately.
🚔Neighborhood Police Officers Out in the Neighborhood.
Fort Worth PD’s “Cops and Bobbers” Continues its Quest to Bring Youth and Officers Together for Fishing and Water Safety.
The Fort Worth’s Police Department North Division’s “Cops and Bobbers” community police and youth outreach program hosted a morning of out fun and learning on Saturday, June 6, at Ninni Baird Park located at 8900 Hawley Drive as officers met with local children to teach fishing skills and water safety while building positive, trust-based relationships.
Spear-headed by North Division’s NPO Barry Sawyer, this event encouraged kids to step outside, enjoy nature, and connect with law enforcement in a relaxed supportive setting. Through hands-on instruction and encouragement, parents and children worked simultaneously to bait a hook, handle a fishing rod safely while learning basic guidance on water safety around ponds and lakes.
“Cops and Bobbers” is designed to foster camaraderie between law-enforcement officers and youth through outdoor activities such as archery and fishing.

Giving Back to Those That Gave
On June 11, eight local military veterans were honored with a once-in-a-lifetime flying experience courtesy of Dream Flights. The memorable morning began at Texas Jet, located at 200 Texas Way in Fort Worth, where the honorees were treated to a special breakfast as the National Anthem played in the background. Following the morning ceremony, the veterans took to the skies for an unforgettable flight dedicated to recognizing their service and sacrifice.
This year’s honored attendees included Billy Bain, Carl Harrington, Gene Flower, Jim Swaney, Wilfred Koelzer, Bobby Fletcher, Ron Penrod, and George Melvin. We extend our deepest gratitude to these brave individuals for their dedication to our country, and to Dream Flights for making this incredible day possible.

Fort Worth Public Libraries Give Working Parents an Alternative to Leaving Children at Home.
Fort Worth Public Libraries offers a variety of free, safe, and engaging summer programs that serve as excellent alternative for working parents looking to keep their children entertained during school breaks.
🌞Summer Programs
Citywide initiative such as the “Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge” encourages children to read while earning prizes. Registration is required online.
🚦Safety and Supervision
Libraries provide a secure, supervised environment where children can socialize with peers and engage with librarians and community leaders.

Community Kindness: Neighbors Support Our Men and Women in Blue
They stop by unannounced, never expecting acknowledgement or praise. From local businesses to neighborhood Girl Scout troops, community members continue to show overwhelming support for our men and women in uniform.
Week after week, friendly faces drop off fresh meals, cases of bottled water, and—yes—even boxes of cookies to keep our officers fueled and motivated. These simple gestures of kindness mean much to the officers at North Division. To everyone who has taken the time to donate: thank you. Your generosity does not go unnoticed, and you are deeply appreciated.

Independence Day Celebrations
Park Glen residents enjoyed their annual Independence Day Parade slightly ahead of the July 4th celebration. Residents gathered at the gazebo at Arcadia Park #4 to march with decorated bikes, wagons, strollers, and pets alongside the Keller Central Marching Band. Later in the evening PID 6 (Public Improvement District) hosted their annual Independence Day firework & community event. The evening festivities included food trucks, live music, and vendors. Fireworks display closed out the event at 9:15pm.
👀NCW Training
Neighborhood Crime Watch - Residents in north Fort Worth are taking a proactive step towards keeping their communities safe by learning more how to become involved in police-sponsored programs such as the Neighborhood Crime Watch (NCW). Quarterly training is provided in north Fort Worth sector for those interested in finding out how to begin their own neighborhood groups. The evening kicked off with a complimentary dinner, providing community members a chance to connect with neighboring NCW Captains sharing unique neighborhood experiences. Following dinner, attendees participated in a brief informative NCW presentation detailing effective strategies for spotting and reporting suspicious activity. In addition, residents had the opportunity to meet new FWPD Officers assigned to north Fort Worth. With new NCW interest groups now in development, north Fort Worth is well positioned to become a safer, more connected place to live. New FWPD officers and assigned shifts.

Lt Paul Genualdo Joins North Division
The FWPD North Division welcomes Lt Paul Genualdo, who brings extensive supervisory experience from various FWPD units. In his new role, Lt G oversees seven sergeants and is currently assigned to the FIFA World Cup safety operations.

Plan Early
August 2026 - Gun Safety Awareness Month - Gun Safety cable locks are available through the Fort Worth Police Dept. Residents can pick up free of charge gun cable locks. Let's do our part in keeping weapons secured and out of the hands of babes.
Thursday, Aug 13th / 110-12noon School Supply Collections - NPO Derrick Simpson and WM Store Manager located @ 8520 N Beach for local children. Supplies will be hand delivered to select school counselors for distribution.
September 2026 - Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026 / A-Z of National Night Out Training - This training serves as a refresher course for previous NNO hosts, and serves as an introduction to NNO newcomers. Complimentary dinner provided, door prizes and much more. Registration is required.
October 2026 - National Night Out in Texas observed on first Tuesday in October preferably from 6-9pm. Residents, business owners, city leaders, volunteers, FWPD all join efforts to ensure Fort Worth remains safe for all residents and visitors. Registration for National Night Out is required through the FW website. Crime Prevention Specialists to provide registration link once live.
Wednesday, 10/7/26 - Coffee With a Cop Nationwide kick-off date. Businesses are encouraged to reach out to your Neighborhood Police Officer or Crime Prevention Specialist if interested in hosting a Coffee With a Cop. Send email of intent to [email protected].
