As the sun sets on our first year post the closing of our school, Como Montessori PTA hopes that our teachers, staff, students, and their families were able to transition well in their new locations. CMS, particularly for our long time students, was a second home for many of them. Many of our middle school students started their education journey in kindergarten at Como Montessori School. The relationships built with friends and teachers will last beyond the walls of the physical building. That is what made CMS a special place to be.

Drive the ball to the hole for the score at Fort Worth ISD’s Annual Basketball Camp, returning to the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center this June.

The four-day basketball camp tips off Tuesday, June 21, and is open to all children ages 8-14 (third through rising ninth grade students) at all basketball skill levels. Campers will be grouped according to their skill level and challenged to their abilities.

For $25, students receive a camp T-shirt, breakfast and lunch, and four days of training in basketball fundamentals with FWISD coaches. Attendees will undergo a series of basketball fundamentals and drills instructing them in shooting, ball-handling, offensive moves, footwork, passing, defensive positioning and rebounding. They will take part in 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 games and be introduced to team concepts to prepare them for scholastic teams.

The camp is first-come, first-serve, and accepts the first 120 children who sign up.

Don’t miss your shot to participate. Sign up today at fwisd.org/basketballcamp. Camp acceptance will be confirmed by phone after June 17.
