Please join us in welcoming two new faculty—Dr. Nina Cook and Dr. Jared LaGroue—to the John V. Roach Honors College and Texas Christian University!
Dr. Cook joins us from Rice University. With a PhD in English, she will teach interdisciplinary courses that explore a fascinating range of cultural topics, including the history and meaning of Christmas.
Dr. LaGroue comes to TCU from Penn State University. Holding a PhD in Mass Communication, his work spans everything from dialogue and collaboration to the impact of AI on the music industry’s algorithms and streaming.
Both scholars bring curiosity, purpose, and a passion for helping students think across boundaries. Both embody everything we stand for at Roach Honors: challenging students to unlock their potential, cultivate their purpose, and transform the future.
We couldn't be more excited to welcome them to TCU and Roach Honors!

The John V. Roach Honors College is excited to announce Arthur C. Brooks as the 2026 TCU Fogelson Honors Forum Keynote Speaker.
Join us to hear from one of the world's leading experts on the science of human happiness and author of the New York Times bestseller The Meaning of Your Life. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Tucker Family Ballroom at the Brown-Lupton University Union.
This event is free to attend but registration is required. Tickets will be available beginning September 9 at 10:00 am CST!
