🐾 Learning comes alive when curiosity meets experience! 🦘🦦

Last Friday, May 31st, our students had a wonderful visit from The Creature Teacher! Instead of just reading about animals in books, they had the exciting opportunity to see them up close, learn fascinating facts, and even gently touch some of these amazing creatures.

From a furry little marsupial to a playful ferret and other incredible animal friends. Every encounter sparked curiosity, excitement, and lots of smiles.

Experiences like these help children build a deeper appreciation for wildlife while making learning memorable, interactive, and fun. Thank you, The Creature Teacher, for bringing the animal kingdom right into our school! 💚🐾

We wrapped up the first week of our Breakthrough Year! 💙🍦

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and this week reminded us that it also takes a village to build a thriving school. With the teamwork of our leadership team, teachers, staff, students, and supportive parents, we didn’t just survive the first week back—we thrived.

To make it even sweeter, our wonderful principal, Mrs. Suarez, personally delivered ice cream treats to every teacher as a simple but meaningful reminder that our hard work, long hours, and dedication never go unnoticed. 💙🧡

Here’s to a year of growth, collaboration, and breakthroughs—one day, one student, and one team at a time. We’re just getting started! 🍎✨

🌿✨ Learning beyond the classroom! ✨🌿

Yesterday, July 17, our Pre-K and Kindergarten students enjoyed a wonderful day of outdoor learning at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden! 🌸🦋

Exploring nature allows young learners to discover the world through curiosity, observation, and hands-on experiences. Outdoor learning helps develop critical thinking, language and social skills, creativity, problem-solving, and a deeper appreciation for the environment. Most importantly, it encourages children to learn through play while building confidence and creating lasting memories.

A big thank you to our families and staff for helping make this field trip such a meaningful experience. Here’s to growing curious minds—one adventure at a time! 💚🌼

Meet our Spotlight Teacher, Karlisha!

"My name is Karlisha, I’m a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Sycamore Elementary. I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher so a few years ago I took up another opportunity to complete my degree and work toward my certification. After losing my husband early in the pandemic, school suddenly didn’t feel like a priority. With much prayer, love and support from family, co-workers and friends I was able to return to college, complete my degree and earn my teaching certificate! I would love to have additional funds to help with the expense of supplying daily snacks for my class as well as purchase water bottles and rest time blankets for my students whose families may not be able to provide them."
