Happy New Year!
We look forward to a year filled with learning, joy, and rigor.

Learners had the opportunity to visit with a local entrepreneur that works in the culinary field. Hao Tran shared with learners her hero's journey of how she left her home in Vietnam and set up shop with the goal of bringing a taste of Vietnam to share with the Fort Worth area. Learners enjoyed the opportunity to learn how to make simple and delicious spring rolls. Our learners would like to say, "Thank you, Miss Hao. The spring rolls were different and very delicious."

Children launched their very own startup businesses at Children's Business Fair Fort Worth on June 26, 2021.

Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at our one-day marketplace.

We will host 20 or more booths at the Annual event in Fort Worth on June, 26th, 2021 from 10 am – 2 pm.

This event is sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.

Whether an entrepreneur is famous like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs and serve their communities.

How well do you think that Fort Worth ISD has been preparing our children for success?

Traditional education is falling short. Many children get lost in the large number of students that a teacher is supposed to instruct in public education. They are not allowed to learn at their own pace, or grow as quickly as they have the potential to.

Acton Academy is here to provide a different type of education for the children of Fort Worth, our heros!

Children who come to learn at Acton Academy get to teach themselves in a self-directed, self-paced learning environment. Acton Academy will only be admitting 15 students in our next semester. We are hosting a socially distanced open house THIS SATURDAY from 11am -1 pm, but require appointments. Please send us a message to schedule your tour for this Saturday.

Making our childrens' lives as easy as possible is an important thing for parents. Our instinct is to protect them and save them from pain; however, at the same time, we want to help them grow and expand. 🌳

Growth comes from overcoming difficult obstacles. Many adults can think about the growth they have experienced from overcoming their own obstacles. How did those challenges stimulate growth?

Stimulation and encouragement are a central part of parenting. Does their current school stimulate them? 📝 Does it allow them to learn how to learn, or merely pass a standardized test? 📝Are they allowed to learn at their own pace, as quickly or slowly as they need in individual subjects? 📝
