From DCC to MD 🩺💜 Tatum Hall, MS1, is proving that you don’t have to choose between your passions. After pursuing her dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and appearing on Netflix’s “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” she is now taking the next step toward another lifelong goal: becoming a physician.

A TCU alumna, former Showgirl captain and now student at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU, Hall is embracing the journey of balancing her love for dance with her passion for medicine.

From DCC to MD: A North Texas woman's path from Netflix's "America's Sweethearts" to becoming a doctor "I always knew I wanted to audition for the Dallas Cowboys​ Cheerleaders ever since I was a little, little girl."

Through Charlar Con Cafecito, our medical students are strengthening their Spanish language skills while building meaningful relationships with community members through conversation, culture and connection.☕

The initiative, led by Michaela Mitchell, MS3, and Mary Conley, MS4, with guidance from Assistant Professor Karla O’Donald, creates opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish in a welcoming environment while preparing to provide more empathetic, culturally responsive care.

Students are learning that effective communication is about trust, connection and truly understanding the people they serve.🗣️

This week, our medical students had the opportunity to spend time with a very special visitor—Pax Comfort Dog! 🐾

Pax brought a calming presence to campus, reminding us of the important role comfort and connection play in health care. Moments like these help support student well-being while highlighting the value of compassion in medicine.
