From :
“And the thing about blooming is,
nothing about the process is easy.
It requires every part of you to stretch upward,
with your roots firmly planted in the ground; and
in the sun, and in the rain, and wind,
you stand anyway, even against the pull of the soil.
And through it all, one day you will see
all along you were transforming.
This took everything out of you, but the
struggle was beautiful and necessary for your growth.”

Spring invites us into a time for renewal, rebirth and an inner awakening. It’s the equivalent of a biiig stretch and wide open yawn after the long dark night of winter.
When we take advantage of it, winter gives our hustle a chance to rest, and gives us a reprieve from that constant drive for productivity.
The seeds of insight and excitement and dreams that were planted in our soul during the dark months begin to bloom as we experience the sunlight of the season.
The breath of spring fills our lungs with fresh air and reminds us to prune all the things that no longer serve us in order to create space for our deepest aspirations and ambitions to flourish…One mindful moment at a time.

Happy Earth Day. Happy Spring. These might be SUBTLE shifts, but that doesn’t mean they’re easy. It’s easy to get caught up in the do more, get more, be more thing, but the rhythms of nature are much more sustainable. I’ve been trying to figure this out for awhile now, and I still find myself having to slow it waaaay down sometimes. Do any of these appeal to you?

This year it’s taken me a little longer than usual to emerge from my winter cave. But out I crawl, blinking in new sunlight, stretching with arms wide open, covered in glitter and paint.
This collage is my first little outward expression of spring. Process painting has become one of my go-to forms of art therapy. No plan, no perfection—just me, a brush, and whatever colors my mood spills onto the page. Isn’t it funny how getting lost can help you find yourself again?

Yesterday I took the kids out for ice cream and got myself a scoop of my childhood favorite: orange sherbet. Tastes like summer on a sugar cone. 🍦😋
I don’t know about you, but juggling the summer season as a work-from-home mom can leave me feeling like I’m melting faster than that ice cream cone. Add the Texas heat on top of it, and I’m usually ready to clock out of all of it by noon 🥴
Y’all…the only way out of it is through it…so try to tap into your happy place and give your supermom self permission to indulge in life's simple pleasures! 🦸♀️
Next time you’re trying to provide another magical memory for your kids, enjoy a well-earned scoop of happiness for yourself! 🌞💕"

It’s the longest day of the year…and the perfect opportunity to recalibrate. It’s an opportunity for us to let go of things that are energy-draining, heavy to carry, or just cumbersome for our souls. Then we can use the heat and energy of the sun to set intentions from a place of gratitude and enthusiasm.
It’s a fantastic time to get sun kissed and soak up some super important Vitamin D…unless, of course, you are also in Texas experiencing this ridiculous heat. In which case, join me in cranking up the AC, lighting a candle, and pretend you’re forest-bathing 😉

I get itchy to move things around when the seasons change, and I’m not 100% sure about this one.
I loved my gallery wall, but since we moved our furniture around (when I got this way last winter), I felt like our fireplace room felt too closed in. SO I took down all the art, brought in my vintage rabbit lamp, and hung up a painting I picked up at an antique mall in Florida of all places.
I like the look…HOWEVER, I now have 4,212 holes to fill. So before I go to all that effort, tell me which YOU prefer. You can vote in my stories.

Are you ready for the sunshine? I don’t know about you, but at the first glimpse of spring, I want to get out in the yard, pot all my plants, bring in my bright pillows, and open my windows.
In the same way that we spruce up our spaces at the start of each season, we can use a fresh perspective on other areas of our lives as well. What we needed during the winter months might be different than what we need now. When we follow the cyclical rhythms of nature, we learn to adapt and adjust, even in tiny ways, that keep us growing.
How do you change up your self care each season? What are you absolutely loving right now?

I almost crossed out the word strong, because literally every woman I know IS strong, but then I realized, that’s kinda the point.
Happy International Women’s Day…
Who are some of the women that have influenced you most?

Most of the time we aren’t even aware of the self-talk that’s running in the background of our minds, but studies have shown the power of words over plants, pets…even fruit! So you can imagine how much your words (even if it’s just a silent narrative in your head) effect your life. When you take care to speak positively to and about yourself, you’re giving yourself permission to be human, and leaving yourself room to grow.
