The journey ahead will bring plenty of learning, growth, challenges, friendships, accomplishments, and unforgettable moments. Through it all, remember to support one another, stay curious, celebrate your progress, and enjoy the experience.

We’re excited to spotlight ✨PA Adam Bruntz, a dedicated preceptor and UNT Health graduate who has mentored countless PA students over the years. Students shared how his meticulous attention to detail ; even when patients are unable to see it; taught them the importance of dignity, compassion, and excellence in every aspect of care. They remembered the welcoming environment he created in the OR, where he taught, encouraged participation, and made learning fun with early‑2000s music playing in the background.

He helped students navigate challenging clinical situations, especially in the osteoporosis clinic, breaking down complex concepts into terms patients could understand. His advice that stuck with them: “Anyone can learn medicine, but the art of medicine, patient communication, and beside manner are much harder to teach.”

Fun fact: He loves NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys!
We are grateful for his long‑standing commitment to PA education and the countless students he has supported throughout his career.

We had a great time being part of Camp C.A.R.E and going into the wild with the students!

Camp C.A.R.E. returns for a wild second year at UNT Health Camp C.A.R.E. returned to UNT Health Fort Worth for its second year, bringing students from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area together for a wilderness survival-themed experience that combined team-building activities with hands-on learning about careers in public health.

We’re excited to spotlight Dr. Aimee Garza, neurologist at the Center for Neurology and Neurophysiology, who was nominated by students for her compassion, teaching, and the exceptional care she provides. Students shared how she makes every patient feel valued, saying, “She makes each patient feel as if they are her only patient,” and how observing her reinforced the importance of empathy, communication, and trust in patient care. They also described how welcomed they felt from day one, thanks to the warm and supportive environment she creates.

PA student Ellie Davis remembered a challenging clinical moment when Dr. Garza walked her through a rare diagnosis and showed her how to communicate the difficult information with clarity and compassion. Her encouragement, “Be patient with yourself and always keep learning”.

Dr. Garza’s impact extends far beyond the exam room. She serves as medical director, leads community programs, mentors future providers, and participates in research. We are grateful for her leadership, her heart for patients, and the way she invests in our students. 💙🧠
