I know spring is around the corner, through the tunnel and over the bridge. However it's a lot closer than you think! With that I know many of us and myself included are focusing on getting back in shape, eating healthy and prepping that summer bod! If anything do it for yourself, stay healthy, get strong and live your best. But also how about we work another set of muscles! You know the ones that you workout when you're by yourself moving your hands and fingers together.... I'm talking about trigger and grip control now! Had ya going now didn't I? Go out to the range, work on stance, grip and trigger control. Focus on recoil management, trigger reset and eventually group placement. Like working out, slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Start off with the basics and work on them. If you have any questions give me a shout! Oh and eat your carrots!

Well Happy New Year every body! I sure hope y'all had a safe and wonderful time! I'm free every Wednesday and Thursday or by appointment, I just ask for at least 48 hours notice. I'm also free every day before Noon for local indoor ranges. For this year I am adding rifle classes for both carbines and long rifle. We can even do both hand gun and carbines in the same class if you wish to do that as well! The beauty is you tell me what you would like to learn and I'll take care of the rest! So give me a shout and lets hit the range! Message me for pricing and I'll be more than happy to work with you. I know it's been a while since y'all heard from me. With the Texas move, new schedule and everything, it's been a busy few months. However I did find a range to take students to! I know nearly all of you don't live in Texas but I am always available to answer questions you may have! Well folks we are coming down to the wire. If everything stays on course I will be move to Tejas July 14. Currently my days off are Tuesday and Wednesday so if you'd like to go shoot give me a shout. If anyone has questions about anything you can contact me at any time.

So those of you that know me personally, know that I'm a strong advocate for the AK platform. I've had my AKM for almost 10 years now and my 74 for just over a year. I've come to know the rifle very well both inside and out and I know what it can and can't do. The Century C47 is one rifle I highly do not recommend. Hello everyone my name is Dan Maltman and this is the official Shoal Creek Defense (SCD) page. Here, I will post times when I am available for training, firearm facts, new products that I feel are interesting and/or educational, and some fun firearm related history and stuff to make not all so serious.

Welcome to the New Shoal Creek Defense page. Facebook quickly prompted me that I should combo my pages for business and since I will be relocating to Ft. Worth, TX I figure this would be a good time to do so.

Like my old page, this is non political. Discrimination and political bantering will not be tolerated. My goal here is to promote the education, safety and information for the great shooting sports. Whether you are new to fi****ms looking for the best fit, general information or looking for your first firearm. Or you're a seasoned shooter looking to improve or even willing to share your experiences and tips this is the place to do it. If you're thinking about getting your license to carry and looking for training I can prepare you for that. Or how about you have acquired some old gun that you know nothing about but would like to know more or what it might be worth? I can help you with all of that.
