Congratulations to Dr. Keegan Warren on being named a 40x40 Alumni Changemaker by Equal Justice Works, the nation's largest public interest program. Commemorating its 40th anniversary, the organization recognized 40 honorees for their leadership, service, and impact in advancing justice across communities.

Dr. Warren joined the university in 2023 and has served as the executive director of the Texas A&M Institute for Healthcare Access. She has helped lead several health initiatives and regional programs focused on improving health outcomes and reducing health gaps.

Most recently, she helped organize the 2026 Fort Worth Healthcare System Summit, which explored strategies and best practices for delivering healthcare in remote and resource-constrained environments.

Our students met with more than 130 attorneys on Friday during our Connecting Law Firm Table Talk, hosted by the Career Services Office. A big thanks to the law firms that joined us to share insights, offer guidance, and help students build valuable professional connections.

Growing up in Montana, Jacob Drake developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the importance of protecting the natural world. As the son of an Aggie, he also grew up with a strong connection to Texas A&M and the Aggie Network, making the decision to pursue graduate studies at Texas A&M an easy one.

He is currently pursuing his Master of Legal Studies online in Environmental Law & Policy, a program that allows him to continue living in the mountains while earning a world-class education. The flexibility of the online format enables him to balance his academic goals with the outdoor lifestyle he values.

After completing his degree, he hopes to build a career in conservation, working to protect natural spaces so they can be enjoyed by future generations.

His advice for prospective online students is simple: "Online school is exactly what you make it. The flexibility is a huge advantage, but your success depends on your commitment. Stay on top of your reading, watch your lectures, engage with your classmates and professors, and the success will follow."

This month, Prof. Luz Herrera received two of the highest honors bestowed on Latino leaders in the United States: the Ohtli Award from the Government of Mexico and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Medallion of Excellence for a Distinguished Alumna.

Luz Herrera, professor of law, was honored with two of the most significant honors conferred on Latino leaders in the United States: the Ohtli Award from the Government of Mexico and the Medallion of Excellence for a Distinguished Alumna from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI).
