As we close out the 2025-2026 school year, we want to thank and recognize the phenomenal educators that make a difference every single day.

We caught up with our LAN Teachers of the Year for a quick photoshoot and took the opportunity to ask a few questions about their impact as educators. From innovating through instruction to building strong school communities, this group has set the bar high - in and out of the classroom.

Swipe for some of our favorite interview highlights and please join us in celebrating our LAN Teachers of the Year!

The end of fifth grade means new beginnings for our Leadership Academy at Como Elementary School Lions! Last week, Como hosted their inaugural Signing Day event - a celebration of students accepted to their select transfer and Program of Choice middle schools!

Congratulations to these amazing scholars! They have worked hard to reach this milestone and we are cheering them on as they take the next step in their academic journeys.

A special thank you to our Como families, community members, and partner Fort Worth ISD middle schools for your continued support - we loved celebrating with you!

On behalf of LAN, we are proud to introduce F***y Sancen as the incoming principal of the Leadership Academy at Mitchell Boulevard for the 2026-2027 school year!

Throughout her 20-year career as an educator, Mrs. Sancen has served students and families in a variety of impactful roles — from teacher assistant and substitute teacher to instructional coach, assistant principal, and, most recently, LAN Dean of Literacy.

Returning to Mitchell Boulevard as principal is especially meaningful, as the campus has long been part of her family’s story. Her mother served the school community for 25 years, and Mrs. Sancen is the proud parent of a Mitchell scholar.

Grounded in the values of hard work, perseverance, and service, Mrs. Sancen is committed to supporting students, staff, and families while continuing Mitchell’s tradition of excellence.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Sancen!

To our LAN educators and staff, thank you isn’t enough. The students you continue to impact, the relationships you have built, and the work that you do - both seen and unseen - it’s what makes our schools communities.

Thank you for everything.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week ❤️
