Looking forward to City Of Aledo Summer Blast on June 6th!

We’re just over a week away from City of Aledo Summer Blast 2026, Aledo’s official kickoff to summer, happening Saturday, June 6 from 6–10 p.m. at Aledo Commons Park. This free community celebration brings downtown to life with live music, food trucks, local shopping, an LED dance floor, an epic Kid Zone and a fireworks finale to close out the night. ☀🌴🎆

We also want to recognize the local businesses and organizations whose support helps us take Summer Blast to the next level and create an unforgettable experience for our community.

Today, we pause to commemorate the ultimate sacrifices made by those who served our country, whose bravery and selflessness have afforded us our cherished freedoms.

Their sacrifice has enabled us to enjoy the liberties we have every day. As we observe Memorial Day, we pay tribute to their memory and offer heartfelt support to their families. We will forever remember their sacrifice.

What an exciting end to the semester at The University of Texas at Arlington, UTA Fort Worth, and for our team at UTA West!

Last week, we had the privilege of attending the Parker County Chamber of Commerce State of the County and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce State of the County, two powerful events highlighting the growth and vision across our region.

Yesterday, UTA West and the UTA College of Business - Department of Accounting brought together our Fort Worth community of accounting alumni at the Fort Worth Club for the UTA Accounting Alumni Breakfast.

It was great to see so many familiar faces come together for great conversation and networking.

After more than 25 years of dedicated service to UTA, Officer Potter is stepping into a well-deserved retirement. For over two decades, Officer Potter has been a steady, reassuring presence on our campus, keeping our community safe and making everyone feel welcome. Thank you for your years of service, Officer Potter. You've made a lasting impact.

We also celebrate Demetria Wilhite, who is retiring after more than 17 years with the UTA College of Business. Demetria has poured her heart and soul into the Health Care Administration program, shaping the careers of countless students and leaving an indelible mark on everything she's touched. Her passion, dedication, and warmth will be deeply missed.

Officer Potter and Demetria, the Fort Worth Center and The University of Texas at Arlington are stronger and better because of you. We wish you nothing but the best as you begin this exciting new chapter. You will be sorely missed. 💙

We're also proud to celebrate one of our very own, Guillermo Hernandez-Ramos, who graduated this semester! Guillermo has been an integral part of the UTA West team and the friendly face greeting you as you walk through the doors at our Willow Park office. Congratulations, Guillermo, we're so proud of you and can't wait to see where your Maverick journey takes you next!

This spring, UTA President Jennifer Cowley will confer degrees to two very special Mavericks: her husband, Jon, earning one of the first STEM MBA degrees, and her son, Nathan, graduating magna cm laude in history before returning for his master’s this fall.
