Dr. David Hicks Early Childhood Center

Tammy Hicks, wife of former Northwest ISD Superintendent Dr. David Hicks, and family friends recently visited our new campus for the first time. Dr. Hicks served as Northwest ISD superintendent in 2022 and unexpectedly passed away, leaving a lasting legacy at the district — and now, our school bears his name.

Whether they’re going on a camping trip or starting a mission to space, our Huskies are having a blast at their new school while learning through play! Take a sneak peek at our new campus. This is the first of four early childhood centers in Northwest ISD approved by voters in the 2023 bond election.

These first few days are all about exploring new spaces, discovering through play, building relationships, and learning new routines. From finding their classrooms and learning where things belong to practicing lunch, rest time, arrival, and dismissal—our Little Huskies are already learning SO much!

Heart the Husky had the BEST evening welcoming our Little Huskies!

There’s nothing quite like seeing the excitement on our students’ faces as they walked into their new school for the very first time. From big smiles to wide-eyed wonder, the energy was contagious!

Before Meet the Teacher, our staff enjoyed a little time around the campfire making s’mores and soaking in the excitement of the new school year ahead. We can’t wait to make memories and start an amazing year together at Hicks!
