Thank you for another fantastic Art Showcase!!!
I have had several parents and kids tell me they did not know the kids Art Posters were available for purchasing! Let me know if you’d likee your students QR code to purchase theirs. They are $10! I have to close this out very very soon and mail the posters back to Artsonia. So please let me know as soon as possible :)

I have found an awesome schoolwide art collaboration project. But I need your help. Here is a sneak peek picture. I need bottle caps/ lids in these colors. Will your family start saving them for us??? Thank you in advance! I’m excited to see this project progress.
Soda bottle caps, play dough lids, etc are just a few examples of what I would be looking for!

After the art show on Tuesday we needed a slow down 💕
I left up the art work so each child could see all of it and take it. Students also leave about being an Art Critic. What it means to critique themselves as well as a partner. We learned about constructive criticism (big words I know 😊) and how to take it in. The kids picked their partners to go around the room with.

Just a few photos from the past week in the Art room! It’s been crunch time finishing up projects 😍 Can not wait until Tuesday evening for the kiddos to show off all their hard work.

Hello wonderful FAA parents! I am on the hunt for some old larger button down shirts for the kiddos to slide on when painting. We will be doing some splatter painting very soon! If anyone is cleaning out closets I’d love to take some off your hands!

This semester in Art we are focusing on building “Independent Artist.”
I’ve been joking with them in a funny voice saying “I am raising independent artist around here!”
I am pushing them to grow beyond their comfort zone in Art. I keep telling them all they have to do is TRY! Trying is growing and growing is learning. I am Trying to show them it’s ok to make mistakes and sometimes we end up with Happy accidents 💖. I just love watching each and everyone of these kiddos blossom in my class. I can not believe we are just a few short weeks from the FAA Artshow. I can not wait for everyone to see all their hard work come together in one amazing space! Mark your calendars now! April 9,2024 is the FAA art showcase.

Hello FAA families! Hope you are staying warm on this snowy MLK holiday! I am snuggled up by the fire, with a warm cup of coffee and my laptop just working on the Art Show planning!
I would like to share the Amazon Art Show wishlist I created here. If you are able to help out fantastic! We appreciate it so much!!! Even if you are not able to help out, you can always help out just by sharing the Amazon wishlist and maybe some family or friends would like to help out!!! Maybe you know a business that would like the tax write off :)
I am so excited to reveal all the plans and hard work to the parents in April!
The district Showcase is in February. It is a fun event showcasing all aspects of Fine Art in all grade levels. For Art I will select the best Art from all grade levels to put on display for this event. Your child will receive a badge to wear at the district event if their Artwork is chosen from me.
I received a grant this year for a 3D printer! So exciting!!! I do need materials for it. So I do have that on the wishlist as well. I will start with my Art Elective classes to see how they do with it before making the decision on if I introduce the 3D printer to the younger grade levels.
I am so thankful for the support from our FAA~families and the community support I have received over the past few years! I love your kids and I love our school! I love getting to be the part of our school that lets their creativity shine!~ Thank you for helping me do that with them!
