Charlotte Noble, PhD, MPH, Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Academic Services and Assistant Professor at the UNT Health College of Public Health, has been named one of five honorees of UNT Health’s Annual Lighting the Way Award. 🌟
The award recognizes faculty and staff who embody UNT Health’s values in their daily work. Chosen from 47 nominees, Dr. Noble was honored for her efforts to reduce food insecurity within the College of Public Health.
Known for being a consistent source of support, she listens to students’ needs and thoughtfully stocks the College of Public Health's personal food pantry, often contributing fresh produce from her garden.
"It's surprising [to be recognized] because I don't feel like I do this for recognition. I do it because people deserve the dignity of being served in a way that makes sense to them," says Dr. Noble. "I appreciate working for an institution that encourages this type of behavior."
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Noble! 👏

In health care, communication can be just as critical as clinical care. Ensuring patients feel heard, informed and supported requires coordination, empathy and leadership behind the scenes. At Methodist Richardson Medical Center, that responsibility falls to the senior project leader for patient relations, who works closely with multidisciplinary teams, corporate leadership and Risk Management to advocate for patients and strengthen the care experience. Meet spring '25 MHA Alumna Alyssa Manzano.

In a North Texas classroom, a lesson on food no longer ends with the food pyramid. Students are learning how daily lifestyle and nutrition choices shape their long-term health.
At UNT Health Fort Worth, the concept of as medicine has been embedded in classrooms and clinics for years. Now, with the passage of Senate Bill 25 — which expands nutrition for both health professionals and public school students — the university’s approach is aligning with a broader statewide effort to address chronic disease at its source. The introduction of the UNT Health College of Health Professions' MS in Clinical Nutrition program and lifestyle medicine microcredential is a collaborative effort between the following individuals/teams:
🔷 John McKenzie from the UNT Health Division of Academic Innovation
🔷 Dr. Christina Liew-Newville from the HSC Personalized Health and Well-Being department
🔷 Dr. Teresa Wagner from the College of Public Health
