Our PTA board is officially planning out our budget and activities for the upcoming school year, and we want to hear straight from the experts—YOUR KIDS!

We want to make sure we are funding the programs that bring the biggest smiles to Lincoln Elementary. If you could pick the "Ultimate Friday Activity" for your child, which of these would they vote for?

🎈 B) More School Assemblies (High-energy science shows, authors, or magic acts)
🎨 C) Kindness Grams (Sending small notes and treats to friends and teachers)
🥸 D) Wacky Spirit Days (Pajama days, crazy hair days, inside-out days)

💬 Cast your vote by dropping A, B, C, or D in the comments below! Have another epic idea your child talks about? Write it down—we are listening!

⚡ The High-Rail Bicycle! ⚡

Looking to beat the summer heat while keeping those little brains sharp? Head over to Science Central this weekend!

🎢 The STEM Challenge: Challenge your kids to look at the Giant Keyboard or take a spin on the High-Rail Bicycle (if they are brave enough!). Ask them: How do you think the weights under the bicycle keep it from tipping over? (Spoiler: It's all about lowering the center of gravity!)

💬 Comment below: What is your child's favorite exhibit at Science Central? The water table? The slides? Let’s hear it!

PARENTSQUARE BASICS: What Do All These Buttons Do? 🗺️

When you open the ParentSquare app, it can feel like looking at a cockpit control board! Let’s break down main buttons at the bottom of your screen so you can find exactly what you need in under 5 seconds.

🏠 1. Home (The News Feed): This is your main scroll. Think of it like a Facebook feed, but just for our school! It shows the latest announcements, flyers, and principal updates in chronological order.

💬 2. Messages (The Direct Line): This is where you can securely text your child’s teacher, the principal, or school staff. No hunting down email addresses required!

📅 3. Events (The Calendar): Wondering when picture day, field day, or the next PTA meeting is? Tap this to see a neat calendar of everything happening at our school. You can even click an event to add it to your personal phone calendar!

🗂️ 4. More (The Hidden Treasure): Tap this to find the "Sign Ups" (seeing where we need some extra help, or parent teacher conferences) and "Links" (for quick access to lunch menus, bus routes, and the school handbook).

💡 Quick Navigation Tip: If you ever get lost looking for an old post, use the Search Bar at the very top of the Home screen. Just type in keywords like "Field Trip" or "PTA" to instantly bring up past messages!

Save this post for later, and drop a Comment if there's a feature you’re still trying to figure out!

🦁 The Power of the Pride! 🦁

Happy Friday, Lincoln Lions! Did you know that lions are the only cats that live in large family groups called "prides"?

While other big cats prefer to hunt and live completely alone, lions know they are stronger together. In a pride, every single lion has a role—some protect the cubs, some hunt, and some guard the territory. They succeed because they work as a tight-knit team!

🧠 Elementary Science Question: Ask your kids: Why do you think a lion's roar is so incredibly loud? (Answer: A lion’s roar can reach 114 decibels and be heard up to 5 miles away! It’s how they communicate with their team across long distances.)

📣 Join the Pride: Just like a lion pride, our PTA succeeds because we work together. You don’t have to do it alone! We are looking for a few more parents to join our team for next year. Drop us a DM to find your perfect fit!

Check out this video of a couple lions roaring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFcZhH_wFbs

Where does your PTA membership fee go? 💵

Ever wonder what actually happens when you sign up to be a PTA member? Does that money just vanish into a giant black hole? 🌀

Absolutely not! Here is how your small membership fee works wonders right here at our school:

📦 Part 1 stays right here: The majority of your fee goes directly into our school’s PTA general fund. This is the pool of money we use to purchase equipment, fund projects, and fulfill teacher grants.

🍎 Part 2 supports the bigger picture: A small portion goes to the state and national PTA, which provides us with our mandatory insurance (so we can safely host events like the Fall Carnival!) and gives our school access to educational programs.

💡 The Best Part? Joining the PTA does not mean you have signed a contract to volunteer. It simply means you are supporting the work we do for the kids. You can join just to stay in the loop, or you can join to help run a game booth—the choice is 100% yours!

Ready to help us power up the classrooms for next year? Drop a ⚡ in the comments, or send us a DM to grab our early sign-up link!
