Bugs & Crawly Things
Bugs & crawly things creep, crawl
and fl y their way around the
classroom this month! Your child
will learn about common bugs, their
homes and their unique behaviors.
Be ready to fl y like a ladybug, crawl
like a spider and buzz like a bee, as
arts and crafts introduce the world of
insects to your child. Bugs that may
have seemed scary before will soon
feel familiar and fun to explore.

April is one of my favorite months. Our curriculum was filled with so many areas of discovery, we explored ants, worms, butterflies, and praying mantises. There was so much to learn, especially as we watched birds come right up to our window to eat from our feeders. We also made our own bird food and talked about bird feeders and how they help care for nature.

Dollbaby’s Daycare also had a special visit from an Ivy Tech student, who presented her crop box project from class. She built it around farming, providing the children with a hands-on, engaging learning experience. The children also enjoyed creating art projects like corn-on-the-cob and making music shakers alongside the Ivy Tech student.

Overall, it was an awesome month full of curiosity, creativity, and growth.

Our lesson plan today was all about hatchlings, and our book was Hello Bird. We were so surprised and excited when a bright red cardinal stopped by our window feeder. It made the day feel extra special today was just perfect! ✨
