Some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the textbook. 🚌

At Kainos, students explore ideas through hands-on, project-based learning, helping them engage more deeply and apply what they are learning in meaningful ways.

We had an amazing time hosting a table at PBS Explorer Day! We were especially excited to support young readers by giving away over 800 books for free throughout the event.

At Kainos Microschool, we believe literacy opens doors, sparks imagination, and creates opportunities for lifelong learning. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, picked up a book, and celebrated the joy of reading with us!

We have been busy behind the scenes making our space more useable. It’s a mess right now, but hopefully we will feel a little less squished when we start back in August.

We continue to actively look for a larger facility, but are preparing to open in our Parnell location in August! Stay tuned!

High school should give students room to explore their interests.

At Kainos, students have access to a wide range of elective courses through Arizona State University’s Digital Prep Courses, including options like PE, foreign language, and career exploration. We also work with students to earn credit through meaningful extracurricular involvement such as art, music, sports, and theater.

Reading opens the door to deeper thinking.

At Kainos, students engage with a blend of classic and modern literature, independent reading, literature groups, and explicit reading instruction for younger students. The goal is not just to help students read, but to help them understand, discuss, and enjoy what they are learning.

Kainos is more than a name. It is the heart behind everything we do.

The word kainos means something made new in a transformative sense. From the beginning, the vision for Kainos Microschool has been rooted in creating a place where students and families can rediscover hope, grow in confidence, and feel supported in who they were created to be.

We believe students are more than test scores or past struggles. Every child has value, purpose, and the ability to succeed when given the right environment to learn and grow.

Education is about more than completing assignments.

At Kainos, character education is woven into the school day through reflection, emotional growth, empathy, and healthy relationships. Students are encouraged to grow not only academically, but also in how they understand themselves and care for others.

Some of the best learning happens when students get to create, explore, and solve real problems.

At Kainos, afternoons include project-based learning where students research, design, create, present, and reflect. This helps students connect what they are learning to the world around them in a meaningful way.
