Saint John the Baptist Catholic School is proud to nominate Alyssa Rost for the Christ the Teacher Award. Mrs. Rost has served in Catholic education for five years and is currently in her second year at Saint John the Baptist School. In a short time, she has made a profound and lasting impact on our students, families, and school community.

Mrs. Rost consistently goes above and beyond for her students, ensuring that every child feels known, valued, and loved. From the very beginning of the school year, she intentionally builds relationships—welcoming students with personal letters before school even begins and creating meaningful classroom traditions that celebrate each child as a Child of God. Her classroom is marked by warmth, encouragement, and joy; students sing, dance, and cheer as they joyfully learn to read. She takes the time to accompany each student individually so they receive the attention and support needed to learn and succeed. Families frequently share how confident and grateful they feel knowing their children are in her care, noting her kindness, faith-filled presence, and the genuine love she shows to every child.

Mrs. Rost is an exceptional educator who leads with grace, professionalism, and enthusiasm. She is knowledgeable in her subject matter and committed to best practices in teaching and learning, designing engaging and effective lessons that challenge and support all learners. Her communication with families is outstanding, as she regularly shares classroom updates, photos, and videos that provide meaningful insight into student learning and strengthen the home–school partnership. She manages her classroom with consistency and compassion, earning the respect of families and colleagues alike.
