This news means so much to me. I have the privilege of working with the Chapman Scholars and seeing how the Chapman family’s generosity makes a difference in their lives. I get to watch them grow, try new things, build friendships, and find ways to give back to the community.

The Chapman Charitable Trust’s $8 million gift will help future students have those same opportunities at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Thank you, Mr. Chapman and the Chapman family, for your continued support and for carrying forward the vision you and Betsy had for this program. I’m grateful to be part of it and to see your generosity at work every day. 💛🖤

What a turnout for “A Fresh Approach”! 🍎🥕

Senior Chapman Scholar Nada Dahouk welcomed a large crowd of students to her capstone event yesterday. Students were excited to stop by, choose fresh produce, and take some home.

Seeing so many students respond to something Nada worked hard to bring to campus made the day especially rewarding. We’re proud of her initiative and the care she put into this project for her fellow students.

Our first- and second-year Summit Scholars joined students from TRIO today for a Dining Etiquette Lunch & Learn! 🍽️

Students practiced navigating a formal place setting, learned helpful dining tips, and gained skills that will help them feel more confident at professional meals, interviews, and networking events. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn together, ask questions, and connect over lunch!

A special shoutout to Fresh Ideas for providing an excellent meal and wonderful service throughout the event. Thank you for helping make the experience both educational and enjoyable!

Today’s Lunch & Learn featured Drake Turner, counselor with the PFW Student Counseling Center, who joined our scholars for a conversation about time management. Drake shared strategies for recognizing when you are beginning to fall behind, making adjustments before becoming overwhelmed, and using your time more intentionally.

My favorite advice of the day: “Learn to say no! Protect your time like it’s the last piece of pizza.” 🍕

Drake also provided several helpful handouts and encouraged a great conversation. Scholars shared the strategies that work for them, along with the areas where they sometimes struggle. Thank you, Drake, for an engaging and practical session!

A big congratulations to Aimee Abraham, #00, on earning her first collegiate shutout! Aimee played the full 90 minutes in goal and made five saves as the Mastodons defeated Saint Xavier 3–0 on Sunday.

Doermer Distinguished Scholar Ellie Ulrich, #21, also took the field for the Mastodons. We also want to recognize Chapman Scholar Jenna Ellsworth, #28, who continues to support her teammates and play an important role on the team while recovering from an injury.

Congratulations to Aimee, Ellie, Jenna, and the entire Purdue Fort Wayne women’s soccer team on the win! We are proud of you! 🖤💛⚽
