We are getting excited about the fall semester.

Yesterday, IUFW’s Dental Technology, Dental Assisting, and Dental Hygiene programs welcomed Kids College students for hands-on fun! 🦷✨
Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders learned about plaque and proper oral hygiene before putting their skills to the test in a toothbrushing relay race. They also explored color theory with watercolor paints, experimenting with blending and complementary colors.
After an afternoon full of learning, laughter, and tooth-themed temporary tattoos, we may have inspired a few future dental professionals!

2026 Ruby Awards: News: Indiana University Fort Wayne At Indiana University Fort Wayne, the Ruby Awards celebrate students who exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, service, and community impact.

We are wishing Alma the best in her career as a dental technician!! We will miss her in Neff Hall.

🎓 TODAY, Alma Brito graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology! After graduation, Alma plans to continue working in the dental laboratory field while advancing her skills in digital dentistry and restorative work. She also hopes to pursue her RG and CDT certifications to continue growing professionally and expanding her expertise in dental technology.

IU School of Dentistry’s Dean Murdoch-Kinch will confer degrees in Dental Education. Professor Painter, Director of IU Fort Wayne Dental Technology, will serve as marshal for our students, and Professor Kreischer will read the names of graduates from multiple programs.

We look forward to cheering for all of the students as they walk across the stage! 👏

Dental Technology is proud to celebrate Alejandra and Catie as our 2026 Ruby Award recipients.

🏅 Alejandra was awarded the Academic Excellence Award. While maintaining a near‑perfect GPA and working 3–5 days a week, she showed unwavering focus, sharp attention to detail, and complete preparedness.

✨ Catie earned the Community Engagement Award for her outstanding service- from tutoring peers and community members in organic chemistry and ESL, to advocating for careers in dentistry and serving in leadership roles across campus.

Congratulations to both of these incredible students on their well‑deserved honors! 👏

In 2024, we began revamping the Dental Technology curriculum at IU Fort Wayne to create space for additional and more advanced courses. This semester, we launched Dental Technology Seminar. Throughout the last eight weeks, we welcomed dental professionals to share career insights, culminating with an Alumni & Industry Panel.
🦷✨ Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible for our students!

Today, we celebrated The Fabulous Four! We’re grateful for their perseverance and patience as we navigated curriculum changes together after their first semester in 2024. We had so much fun honoring each of them with custom trophies. 🏆

Fun fact: This is the last DT cohort with a spring start date. We now welcome new students in the fall of their first year.
