🎓 Graduate Highlight ⭐️

Donyell Smith plans to join law enforcement after graduation. He shares that his degree gave him the opportunity to study a variety of subjects, helping him develop a broad perspective. One of his favorite memories at Purdue Fort Wayne was participating in mock trials for his business law course with Professor Bougher, an experience that combined hands-on learning with real-world application.

Kailani Johnson plans to pursue her Master’s in Library Science with the goal of becoming a children’s librarian. She shares that her degree prepared her to navigate a wide variety of fields and to find meaningful intersections that deepen understanding. Kailani fondly reflects on all of her experiences at Purdue Fort Wayne and the growth she achieved in every course. Her motivation comes from a deep love of learning and a desire to continually push her own boundaries while broadening her knowledge.

🎓 Graduate Highlight ⭐️

Meet Integrated Studies graduate Jenni Joker, she plans to continue advancing her career while pursuing a Master’s in Social Work. She shares that her degree has prepared her well for the future and that her coursework in Women’s Studies, Sociology, Human Services, and Early Childhood Education was both engaging and energizing.

One of Jenni’s most memorable moments at Purdue Fort Wayne was successfully completing her math course, an achievement that meant a great deal to her. She credits her instructor’s clear and supportive teaching style for helping her succeed. Jenni’s motivation has always been her children and grandchildren. From earning two Associate degrees to completing her Bachelor’s, she hopes to show them the value of perseverance and the importance of never giving up, even when faced with challenges.

One thing she would say to herself to stay motivated under pressure was, “This is not a big issue. You will be okay.” Her told herself, “I will not stop here and this situation does not define what or who I am.” Strong words.

Congratulations, Jenni! We invite everyone to celebrate her accomplishment and support her as she continues to inspire her children, grandchildren, and community.

🎓 Graduate Highlight ⭐️

Andrea Titus plans to continue growing her business after graduation. She says her degree has prepared her to be a leader and a knowledgeable employer, understanding the needs of her team. One of her fondest memories at Purdue University Fort Wayne was having Jim Platzer as her Organizational Leadership professor. She says Professor Platzer was a true inspiration and helped her realize that her options are limitless if she puts in the effort, noting, “Change is inevitable, growth is optional.”

Andrea’s motivation came from herself. Finishing her Bachelor’s degree was a personal goal and a reminder that you are never too old to learn something new.

🎓 Graduate Highlight ⭐️

Hunter Jewett plans to pursue a career in industrial sales after graduation and hopes to remain in the Fort Wayne and Columbia City area to give back to his community. Earning his Bachelor of General Studies has strengthened his professional skillset through a diverse range of interdisciplinary courses. He developed strong communication abilities, a solid understanding of business practices, and sharpened critical thinking skills.

One of Hunter’s favorite memories at Purdue University Fort Wayne was connecting with Professor Curry over a shared love of music. Over two semesters, they introduced each other to new artists, creating a memorable and meaningful classroom experience. Hunter credits his family as his motivation, citing their constant support and encouragement as the foundation that inspired him to keep moving forward and striving for success.
