Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
An estimated 1 in 10 older adults in the United States experiences abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Most cases are never reported.
Awareness matters. But awareness alone is not enough.
The people who work closest to vulnerable adults need the confidence to recognize warning signs, understand their responsibilities, and know what to do next. That is where effective training makes a difference.
Through our work developing Adult Dependent Abuse mandatory reporter training, Briljent has seen that readiness is built through:

This week, colleagues and friends came together to celebrate a remarkable career and an even more remarkable person.
After 17 years with Briljent, Tammy Johnson Brodzeller is retiring, and we had the privilege of reflecting on the countless ways she has shaped our organization over the years.
Tammyโs journey at Briljent spans multiple roles and chaptersโfrom business development and human resources to operations leadership. Through each role, she brought dedication, wisdom, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to the people around her.
As stories were shared throughout the evening, one theme stood out: Tammyโs impact reaches far beyond projects, processes, or titles. She has been a trusted leader, a mentor, a problem solver, and a steady presence through seasons of growth and change. Her influence can be seen in the people she supported, the teams she strengthened, and the culture she helped build.
We often talk about the importance of people in our work. Tammy has embodied that belief every day throughout her career at Briljent.
Tammy, thank you for your leadership, your friendship, and your years of service. We are grateful for the legacy you leave behind and excited for all that awaits you in this next chapter.
