It’s about time we acknowledge all the people who make Pro Standard what it is but NOT using AI to write it… hand typed straight from my (Brandon’s) brain.
I’m starting with our guy Zay today.
The typical series of events we see is uncertainty from a new parent that a high schooler will be training their kid… but then after their first class they leave and tell us “we love Isaiah!”
It’s not often that I would trust a teenager in high school with the business, reputation, and experience we spent years (and a lot of money) building, BUT after him coming to us and training with us as a player for a bit he expressed interest in learning and within months he was out on the floor on his own.
He showed up the first 2 months of shadowing voluntarily, learned as quickly as possible. Engaged himself in workouts. Became a part of the gym. And quickly was on the court with me turning up the music to make him talk louder 😂 among all of the feedback Chase, Ky, and I have given him he has taken pieces of all of our training and developed his own style and voice, which is exactly the goal but it only works if he puts in the effort. We’re all constantly growing as coaches… and we steal workouts from him now!
Not only has he grown significantly as a coach, but he has shown a level of professionalism and punctuality that many people much older than him don’t have…. Unfortunately for me, to the point of some parents asking if that is my big brother. That hurts the pride a little.
For him to balance his playing schedule between school ball, playing on high level AAU teams traveling across the country, his own training, life, and still make it a priority to be in our gym 10+ hrs a week to work with our kids when he lives an hour away is EXTREMELY admirable and proves he is in this game for the right reasons.
We ride with the people who show up consistently, can adjust to (and give) constructive criticism without getting offended, are in this for the right reasons, and he is exactly that.
He may be in high school, but you couldn’t tell unless we told you and he will give your child som of the most quality training around town. We’re lucky and proud to have you Zay! 💯
