Need a little extra support over the summer? There may not be a ton of classes or events happening, but the Center for Student Counseling is still open and offering free, confidential counseling for PFW students!

"Soft skills" are more important in the workplace now than they've ever been. Which is why communication skills are the #1 skill employers look for in new graduates!

It's a common theme among our alumni - a COM degree is beneficial in multiple areas of life. Confidence and the ability to have conversations with a variety of people isn't just helpful at work!

Another great feature on a COM alum doing awesome things - Terel's BA is in interpersonal and organizational communication!

Terel Lynn, B.A. ’12, M.S. ’21, earned a bachelor’s, worked on our admissions team, started his own company (Smile More Meal Prep & Catering), and came back for a master’s. Terel kicks off our Mastodon Alumni Community Alumni Spotlight series with some great advice for prospective students:

“Make the most of every opportunity you can,” he said. “PFW allowed me the opportunity to reinvent myself! I was able to enter those doors as a new person.

”If you are considering PFW, then take these words of advice: GET INVOLVED! I have friendships and networks that have put me where I am today, and I met them while at PFW.”

Things are always slightly different around campus in the summer - if you're around, here's the relevant hours to be aware of!

Don's at Walb and Java Spot aren't on this list because they'll be closed over the summer.

Enjoy your break - or if you're taking a class or two this summer, good luck! ☀️

Some behind-the-scenes photos of Journalism and Media Production students in COM 414 this past semester. They spent some time in studio to produce a special edition of the Summit City Observer!

Original video op-docs included topics such as AI in education, Fort Wayne street art, community resources, fiber arts, pipe organs, fashion trends, and the new soccer stadium to highlight what’s happening right here in our community.
