Summer is a great time to see your advisor! Whether you're thinking about (or rethinking) your fall classes, are considering a change, or just want to make sure you're on track to graduate, advisors are still available in the summer and ready to help.

It's summer, but advisors are still working! Now is a great time to talk to one if you:

✏️ want to make sure you're on track before the next school year starts
✏️ haven't registered for fall (or are rethinking what you registered for)
✏️ are thinking about taking a class in Summer II
✏️ have been considering a major or minor change

Need a little extra support over the summer? There may not be a ton of classes or events happening, but the Center for Student Counseling is still open and offering free, confidential counseling for PFW students!

Now is more important than ever to celebrate. Happy LGBTQ+ Pride Month!

"Soft skills" are more important in the workplace now than they've ever been. Which is why communication skills are the #1 skill employers look for in new graduates!

It's a common theme among our alumni - a COM degree is beneficial in multiple areas of life. Confidence and the ability to have conversations with a variety of people isn't just helpful at work!

Another great feature on a COM alum doing awesome things - Terel's BA is in interpersonal and organizational communication!

Terel Lynn, B.A. ’12, M.S. ’21, earned a bachelor’s, worked on our admissions team, started his own company (Smile More Meal Prep & Catering), and came back for a master’s. Terel kicks off our Mastodon Alumni Community Alumni Spotlight series with some great advice for prospective students:

“Make the most of every opportunity you can,” he said. “PFW allowed me the opportunity to reinvent myself! I was able to enter those doors as a new person.

”If you are considering PFW, then take these words of advice: GET INVOLVED! I have friendships and networks that have put me where I am today, and I met them while at PFW.”
