And just like that, 13 weeks later, the fall Playschool season has reached its end ✨ November was a little dicey with unpredictable weather ❄️ but we covered Woodland Creatures, Habitats, and—my favorite unit to end on—Indigenous Customs 🐦🔥 Our last fall adventure was especially meaningful, as 4 of our OG Explorers (from the very first season!) were able to join us. 💜 85% of my fall class completed the entire 13-week season, with 50% of total participants being age 4 and under, and 65% having never attended a drop-off program! 🤯 THANK YOU to the wonderful families for their trust, and to my 3 amazing assistants for their dedication + talents—without all of you, this little passion project wouldn’t be possible. Until the next adventure ~ Christina 🌻

Our 5-week October adventure ended with Harvest Week! 🧡 This is one of my favorite themes every year because we dissect a pumpkin 🎃(+ talk about life cycles, work on knife skills using kid-safe tools) but we took it a step further this year cutting open 10 other foods and letting the Explorers do an art activity with them. 🎨 Next week we are embarking on our last planned month of the fall season, where all of the skills we have been building the last 9 weeks—good communication, self-awareness, strategies for managing discomfort, problem solving—will really shine! ✨

Insect Week 🪲🐞🦋 our Early Explorers spent hours in the woods hunting for critters, creating + innovating, making bridges/forts/games, and having great conversations. 🧡 Back at our barn we made critter crafts, played at our insect excavation sensory station, and observed expansion by dropping pipettes of water over paper towel caterpillars 🐛 Thursday class was also extra lucky, they got to observe a family of lost pigs up close on the trail—the surprises never end 😆 Next week: Harvest Week and the LAST WEEK of October Playschool! 🎃

I can’t believe we just completed week 3 of October Playschool! 🍁🍂Time flies when you’re having adventures! This week we talked about animal tracks 🐾 plus found all kinds of treasures—toads, snails, mushrooms, woodpecker feathers. Our class has also really developed their teamwork, confidence, and communication skills. We are so lucky to have our Playschool families, who see the vision and trust us with their Explorers 🤎 November registration opening up soon! ~ Christina 🌻
