書初め大会を開催しました🖌️
今年は馬年ということで、様々な「うま」の書体に挑戦しました。
一文字でもそれぞれの個性が表れ、とても楽しい時間となりました。

また、節分も同時に開催し、日本の伝統行事をみんなで楽しみました。
今年も素晴らしい一年になりますように😀
We held our New Year calligraphy event 🖌️ Since this year is the Year of the Horse, we practiced writing various styles of “horse.” Even with just one character, everyone’s individuality really showed, making it a very enjoyable time. We also celebrated Setsubun together, enjoying this traditional Japanese event as well. Wishing everyone a wonderful year ahead😀

I am the JSS steering committee chair. 🧒We held our annual New Year's calligraphy competition.🖌
New Year's calligraphy is a traditional Japanese event. Everyone was able to write their favorite characters well.👍

12月上旬にミニ学習発表会を実施しました。
幼稚部、小学部、国際部の生徒達が
日頃の学習で学んだ事を自由に発表する機会です。緊張な面持ちも時折り見受けられましたが、
しっかりと自身の発表を行えていました。
普段は各クラスの学習内容を知る機会は
中々ありませんが、発表会を通じて各々の
クラスで何を学んでいるかを知る機会にも
なったかと思います。
先生や生徒の皆さん発表会お疲れ様でした！

A mini learning presentation was held in early December.
This was an opportunity for students from the kindergarten, elementary, and international class to freely present what they had learned in their daily studies.
Although they looked nervous at times,
they were able to give a strong presentation.
Normally, we don't have many opportunities to learn about the content of each class' studies, but the presentation was an opportunity to find out what each class was learning.
Thanks to all the teachers and students for their hard work at the presentation!

2学期最初の行事として、警察の方に指導いただき避難訓練を実施しました。今年度はハリケーンからの避難を想定した訓練を行い、ハリケーン対策や警察への緊急連絡方法について学びました。

We conducted our initial training event of the second semester with a focus on disaster preparedness and response, specifically on evacuation drills, assuming a scenario of a hurricane strike. We learned about the necessary measures to take in the event of a hurricane, as well as emergency communication protocols with the police.

5月5日子供の日🎏に兜を作成！
新聞紙を使って兜を作った後は五月人形の前で記念撮影をしました。
いい感じに兜が出来上がってます👍

After making it with newspaper, we took a photo in front of the Japanese dolls.
The Kabuto are turning out nice👍

5月4日親子レク開催🚩
10種目を全力で楽しみました！
新種目〈まめまめ〉ゲームでは、皆んなお箸を使って豆を上手に掴めていましたね。
生徒、先生、保護者の皆さんお疲れ様でした。

Parent and Child Recreation on March 4 🚩
We enjoyed 10 different games!
In the new "Mame-mame" game, everyone was able to use chopsticks to grab the beans very well.
Thanks to all the students, teachers, and parents for their hard work!

2024年度入学式が行われました。
今年度も、皆んなで楽しく学んで遊んで過ごしていきましょう🏫

We had an entrance ceremony in 2024.
Let's enjoy learning and playing together this school year！

日本で2/3は節分の日です🫘→👹
今年は3人の鬼たちがやってきましたが、生徒達は『鬼は〜外、福は〜内』の掛け声と共に豆を投げて何とか撃退しました。最後はもちろん仲良くなってみんなで記念撮影です📷

諸事情により、翌週の2/10に少し早い卒園式を開催しました🇯🇵🇺🇸
今年は三人の園児が元気に卒園です‼️
名編集者による入園から今日までの思い出ムービーをみんなで鑑賞し、年取って緩んだ涙腺はもう限界でした。😭
卒園おめでとうございます🎉

February 3rd is Setsubun day in Japan 🫘→👹
This year, three demons came, but the students managed to fight them off by throwing beans and chanting, “Oniwa-Soto, Fukuwa-Uchi”.
At the end, of course, we all became friends and took a commemorative photo together 📷

Due to various circumstances, we held the graduation ceremony a little earlier on February 10th the following week🇯🇵🇺🇸
This year, three kindergarteners are graduating from kindergarten‼️
We all watched a movie of memories created by a great editor from the time they entered the kindergarten until today, and the lachrymal glands, which have grown slack due to age, were at their limit. 😭

新年恒例の書き初め大会を実施しました🎍
慣れない筆に苦戦しながらも、みんなでワイワイ楽しく出来ました。今年は各々好きな言葉を選び、個性豊かな作品が揃いました😄
締めは太鼓の先生の演奏を聴き、みんなで正月気分を満喫しました🥁

We held the annual New Year's writing competition 🎍
We all had a lot of fun together, even though we struggled with the brushes we were not used to. This year, everyone chose their favorite words and created a collection of unique works😄
To conclude, we listened to the taiko teacher's performance and enjoyed the New Year's mood🥁

当校の一大イベントの学習発表会が11/4に行われ、
生徒、保護者それぞれ好きなテーマを発表しました。それぞれ好評でしたが、やはり幼稚部の劇『笠地蔵』が特に良かったようです。
子供の可愛さには勝てませんね👦👧
昨年から復活したリフレッシュメントも好評でした。

新たな試みとして、日本人向けの英会話クラスを開講しました。赴任後のコミュニケーションの不安解消のため、日常生活に関わるトピックを中心としたすぐに使える実践的な内容を目指しています。日本でも英語教師をされていた経験豊富なアメリカ人先生の下、和気藹々と楽しく学べます。
駐在員やご家族の方、その他英語を学びたい日本人の方、どなたでも大歓迎です。

As a new challenge, JSS have started ESL class for Japanese. We aim to provide practical lesson that can be use immediately, focusing on the topics related to daily life.
We hope that expats families can adjust to and enjoy U.S life.
