Spent the day cooking for a lovely mama who’s doing her best to care for herself and her baby through some challenges. I was able to fill her freezer and fridge up with delicious and nutritious food so that she can focus on other things. What a blessing to be able to care for mothers ❤️

Every visit with clients (pre- and postnatal) gives me an opportunity to connect with them, which I absolutely love 😍 -
But for clients who choose my Mothering the Mother doula package, an extended postpartum visit means Mom gets to relax 😌 in a healing herbal bath 🛀 from Cocina Cura while I get to connect with her sweet baby. 💗 So often, newly postpartum families are exhausted with ALL of the newborn maintenance and hardly get a moment to think about how to care for themselves. This visit means a new mom can take her time, really relax, and breathe deeply knowing that Baby is well taken care of. Mothering the Mother means that while a new mom is all-consumed with thinking about all of her new baby’s needs, she can trust that I will be thinking of and asking about HER needs 💜 …and hey, if I get a few new baby snuggles in the process, that’s just a bonus 😉

If you would like more information about my Mothering the Mother package, feel free to send me a message or email me at [email protected] ☺️

My lovely Facebook friends and family I need some help! I have about 50lbs of turkey for postpartum families that I cook for withy business Cocina Cura. I would like to have it smoked because it will give the most versatility that way. Can anyone help me with that? I can purchase any supplies needed to do this. Thanks ❤️

Sourdough Granola Bars Coming up!!!
I made my first from scratch sourdough starter for a big batch of sourdough brownies I was hired to make and it’s ready 🤩

So I’m making sourdough granola bars with organic chia seeds, organic sprouted pumpkin seeds, and ground organic flaxseeds to support my menstrual and upcoming follicular phases of my menstrual cycle ❤️

First step is setting the oats and seeds to ferment in fresh sourdough starter overnight!

Do you utilize sourdough starter? If so, what do you make with it?

We are asking our community for donations! We know that finances are tight for most of us right now, and we are feeling this within our business as well. Donations will allow us to serve more families and offset the rising cost of food.

We are primarily wanting donations of:

Whole Foods (produce, grains, dairy, meat including bones and organ meat and fat, spices, sweetener including honey and maple syrup and sugar)

Deer
Any amount from a whole deer to just bones or organs

Cookware
Ideally cast iron, stainless steel, slow cookers, stoneware

Monetary donations

Donations can be on a regular basis or just one time! Anything is appreciated! And these donations will go specifically to serving the families in our community. Please reach out to us directly if you would like to donate or have any questions.

I’ve never done an intro post but I think it’s important that those who are here know a little about who I am and why I do this work.

My name is Asha. I am a wife and mother of four. Cocina Cura is my passion project. I started this business to help heal mothers after my rocky initiation into motherhood. Having a traumatic birth and no postpartum support after the birth of my first ignited my drive to help make sure other women did not have to go through what I did. Because of my upbringing I have always known that food is medicine and the postpartum time, or sacred window is no different. Through my training learning postpartum healing principles from many different traditions, as well as deepening my knowledge of the importance of how food is cultivated, Cocina Cura has been born.

When you work with me, I integrate my knowledge with your needs (cultural, spiritual, physical) and create individualized plans or food to fit those needs.

I am proud to provide this service to our area and truly believe that this medicine should be available to all mothers. I am always open to working with families and meeting them where they are. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Thank you for being here ❤️
