I Choose To Win Women who are boldly, bravely and brilliantly unleashing their God-given gifts to impact the world. In life, we win. Welcome to 'I Choose To Win!"

Our mission is to strengthen the mental wellbeing, resilience and economic position of BIPOC women and girls in the Philly area. What if a generation of women were challenged to believe in God with renewed vigor and promise? What if this generation of women believed what God – and not society – said about them? What if they looked into the mirror and were reminded of God’s love and purpose? What if they peered into their souls only to find images of light, courage, boldness and salt? What if they recognized themselves as children of God perfectly designed and properly equipped to live the life God has purposed for them? What if we have a group of women who refuse to accept ‘what is’ as the end, instead they repurposed the lessons learned from trials and turned them into stepping-stones for their promising future? What if young women determine in their hearts that they choose to win in this life?

💜 THE LEGACY CONTINUES: NEARLY $40,000 IN LEGACY CONTRIBUTIONS

After 11 years, we may be closing our organizational doors, but we’re choosing to leave with our hands open—sowing into work that can continue to edify, empower, and equip others to win. We’ve been intentional about ensuring responsible stewardship of the dollars donated to our organization for the mission of strengthening the mental wellbeing, resilience and economic position of women and girls.

In our attempt to leave the community better than we found it, our Board of Directors has decided to allocate I Choose To Win’s remaining assets, nearly $40,000, as legacy charitable contributions to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions and audiences align with the work we’ve championed for 11 years.

Here are our Legacy Contribution Award recipients:

While these organizations have been identified to each receive a generous financial gift, the contributions have not yet disbursed. Distribution will occur once the Court of Common Pleas approves I Choose To Win’s dissolution plan. We’re sharing this now because we believe legacy is worth celebrating while it’s being built.

The work continues. The legacy lives on.

It’s National Sons Day, and I’m here to celebrate my 3 💙💙💙

Just honoring them for being the gifts that my husband and I received from the good Lord, and also for the men they’ve become as I Choose To Win evolved, because they were partners in building this thing step by step. They were our original set of built in volunteers, our admin and registration team, our set up and break down team, our ushers for events and so much more. I watched them walk in their purpose, pursue their passions, exercise their personal power to realize (and move closer to) their God-given potential. My fellas have held it down, shown up for us in every which way, and I’m kinda proud and happy to say, I get to figure out how to do that for them in my sabbatical season, in their adult years.

Babe, we did it! We raised 3 young men we actually like lol 😝 and are excited to get front row seats in their lives. Phil, you’ve been an incredible partner to lead them into manhood . . . THANK YOU! Cheers 🥂 to my guys for being great men, learning and figuring it all out with us by your side. Happy son’s day to all the parents of sons!

IN LIFE, I WIN! — A Legacy of Possibility 💜

What happens when the odds are stacked against you—and you choose to build anyway?

Through our In Life, I WIN! campaign, made possible by the Dr. Frank E. Boston’s Black Justice Fund at HealthSpark Foundation, we amplified the voices and lived experiences of BIPOC women business owners in Montgomery County.

They shared the real stories behind their businesses: the challenges, the pivots, the perseverance, and the wins.

Because entrepreneurship isn't always a straight line. Sometimes choosing to win looks like protecting your well-being, finding a creative way forward, making a new choice, and taking the next step when giving up would be easier.

These WINNERS reminded us that economic independence can be an act of courage—and resilience can become a blueprint for possibility.

💜 A LEGACY WORTH CELEBRATING.

For the past four years, the Bold, Brave & Brilliant Awards and Fundraising Gala gave us a reason to gather, celebrate, and shine a light on women who were choosing to walk boldly in their purpose, pursue their passions, and make an impact.

But the Gala was about more than a beautiful night (although we didn’t shy away from a gorgeous theme).

It was one of the ways our community invested in the ICTW work. The funds raised helped make programming accessible, provided scholarships, and allowed us to show up in ways that women and girls needed us.

And our honorees? They were (and are) living examples of what we believed was possible—women demonstrating resilience, intentionality, leadership, faith, and the courage to carve their own paths, being and doing as they’ve been called.

Looking through these photos, we see so much more than gowns, glamour, and golden moments.

We see community. Generosity. Leadership. Possibility.

We see a legacy being celebrated—and funded—one Gala at a time.

A few years back, I pulled together my words, old poems, collection of thoughts about my own I Choose To Win journey and bound them in a book.

“Time To Choose” was a fundraising initiative that forced me to level up and share myself in a new way - vulnerably and transparently.

It offered a glimpse of my personal unraveling the mystery of “ME” (self-discovery) accompanied by the lessons and messages we believed women and girls needed.

“Time To Choose” was a pivotal moment in each persons’s life where choosing differently was the right choice. What began as a vision ended up being a message we believed women and girls needed to hear. (Whether you attended our cocktails and conversations OR coffee and conversations around this book, let us know in the comments 👇🏽)

Looking back at these moments reminds us that legacy is built one choice, one story, and one person at a time.

What began as words on a page became conversations that encouraged women to choose themselves, choose possibility, and choose to win.

And that’s the beauty of looking back: sometimes you get to see just how far a vision can travel.

💜 LET HER! — A LEGACY OF HEALING & HOPE.

LET HER! was our final program offering to the community and it was deeply connected to why I Choose To Win exists: creating spaces where women and girls can be seen, supported, affirmed, and equipped to choose to win.

Through LET HER! (Ladies Enduring Trauma Healing Emotionally Right-Now!) we created a healing-centered mentorship experience for co-survivors of gun violence, making room for connection, reflection, remembrance, joy, and hope.

A special thank you to Ahyana King (Ahyana King), our licensed professional counselor, and Saroya Royster (SMRoyster Enterprise | Strategy & Programs), our program manager, for helping anchor and steward this experience with intention and phenomenal care.

And to our incredible volunteer mentors (pictured), thank you for giving of your time for 8 consecutive weeks to make the vision real. A shout out to all facilitators, venue, vendors, grantors, and community partners for your role in executing a phenomenal experience for our mentees.

Most importantly, to our mentees: we see you, we honor you, and we believe in what’s possible for you!💜

LET HER! reminded us that sometimes choosing to win means giving yourself permission to heal.

The organization may be winding down, the program may be complete, but the hope, healing, and lessons continue. 🌱

💜 OVERCOMER TO IMPACT CONSULTANT

We’ve been fortunate enough to witness firsthand the bold, brave and brilliant woman cocooning into the magnificent butterfly 🦋 we all know as Syreeta Martin. After surviving a significant life event, she made trajectory-changing life choices to purposefully believe in and build the life she was trusting God for in her recovery journey. At our inaugural gala, she was our dynamic emcee and surprise recipient of our Overcomer award.

With God leading our paths, years later we gained the good fortune of being able to work more closely alongside , our multi-talented resident writer, storyteller, emcee, facilitator, coach, administrator and impact consultant.

Our board is incredibly grateful for her decision to align with our organization and experience her embodiment of the principles and values we hold dear: walking in her purpose, pursuing her passion to realize her full potential. She is a woman of faith, a mother to young queens, a daughter/niece/friend AND she brings the fullness and complexities of all those roles into the one she served with us, as impact consultant. She quickly became a trusted resource and a valued contributor to our offerings and services, for that I give thanks to God for equipping us with someone of her caliber to sustain the challenges we’d eventually need to get through together.

While I can boast about her excellence in leadership in our LET HER mentorship program, hands on support of our CULTIV8 Hope initiative, creative direction of our Acceleration and Elevation Interview Series, there is something else that’s sticking out to me that I want to highlight.

The way she covers her daughters and invites them to our programming (Win From Within Retreats), so they may gain from the programming and experience quality time away with themselves and each other as a unit. That desire to ensure multigenerational access and exposure is everything we stand for. Her selfless, guiding light helped propelled our mission to edify, empower and equip our next generation of winners! A GIFT AND A BLESSING I am intentional to thank God for, so for this Reeta and so much more, Thank YOU! 💕
