And the best part? 👏🏼
EXCELLENT is the HIGHEST performance designation a VPK provider can receive! 🌟
So, what does an EXCELLENT designation actually mean?
A VPK provider’s performance is determined using three important components:
✔️Achievement: How VPK students perform on the state required assessment at the end of the VPK program.
✔️Learning Gains: How much progress students make from the beginning of VPK to the end, based on state assessment results.
✔️Program Quality: The program’s CLASS score, which measures the quality of teacher child interactions in the classroom.
The Florida Department of Education combines these three components to determine each provider’s overall VPK Performance Metric score and performance designation.
That means this recognition isn’t based on just one assessment or one measure of kindergarten readiness. It reflects student achievement, student growth AND the quality of classroom interactions with their teachers!
This accomplishment represents so much for our little school.
A huge congratulations goes out to our Lead VPK Teacher of 18 years, Ms. Monica, and her amazing assistant, Ms. Ari, who has been our VPK Assistant Teacher for 3 years. All our teachers in our program that have helped prepared these children through their pre-VPK years. They truly are the difference!
