A Fun Hands-On Learning Adventure Featuring Live Exotic Animals for birthdays, classrooms, resorts, advanced adult living enrichment, festivals, family gatherings... really anywhere, to anyone! A semi-circle of chairs works great and I present one of 7 animals at a time and teach about their natural history, behaviors, habitats and why I have them. Most of my animals are rescued, unwanted or unwar

ranted small exotic pets. My presentation is fun, educational and responsible. I teach about what makes a good pet and a good pet owner. While I am not against all animals as pets, I definitely preach and teach against some, in a lighthearted, sometimes comedic attitude. ;-) The presentation is not a lecture, it is a give and take, question and answer session in which I ask the kids lots of questions to pull out what they already know. This sometimes impresses the adults that are watching! Especially if the adults are respecting us by paying attention and not conversing or gossiping near us. Sorry I need to mention that, but it has become increasingly more prevalent during my shows of recent. I can control most any group of kids within reason, but when adults don’t pay attention, the kids will soon follow.

🐝 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗫? Go inside the hive with local beekeeper Theresa Devine on Wednesday, September 16th at 10 am in the Niceville Community Center. Discover why beekeepers inspect their hives, what they look for, and how they address problems their bees may encounter. Learn essential beekeeping terminology and how to “read a frame.” Witness live bees in action in an observation hive and take a close-up look inside a bee-free hive to see exactly where the bees live. Fresh local honey will be available for purchase following the presentation.

It's been a couple of weeks now... I had to send my first crew mate, Ricky over the rainbow bridge. He was a feral Nanday conure living in St Petersburg when someone found him in the road... Unharmed, but with a broken voice! He has been with me since 1997 and was never necessarily friendly. I used to put him on top of kids heads instead of them petting him. I retired him after I got Jolly and Kiwi. He was like a "cat with 9 lives" that had a lot of ailments due to accidents. Jolly 🦜 moved in with him and was his caretaker for that past 25 years. She's adjusting pretty well... she's a lot more friendly to me now and is like a new bird! Well, more like she was when I first got her. She had become cage aggressive when she moved in with him and focused on protecting him from me, like I was going to hurt him. 🤷🏼 Now she's constantly asking for me to engage with her.

Scientists say an eye-catching bobolink with both male and female characteristics temporarily took up residence at a nature preserve just west of Chicago, giving some lucky birders a rare chance to observe one of nature’s most intriguing biological phenomena up close.

The bobolink is what’s known as a “bilateral gynandromorph.” What does this mean? https://bit.ly/4glV3is
