I am pleased to announce that my application for the SkillsUSA National Education Team was approved for the Criminal Justice competition at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Skills Conference. Since beginning this new journey in 2020, I have been tasked to work with other educators to develop curriculum and standards, which is a lot more work than a lot of people may think. See everyone in Atlanta for NLSC.

Not sure what type of career you want to pursue after high school? Maybe you are interested in a career in the criminal justice field. I have some exciting news to share with you.

Did you know that starting in the summer of FY 2023 that you can attend Central Georgia Technical College FREE? Yes, you read that correctly. FREE. The State of Georgia has deemed 16 different job classifications as "high demand". There are more jobs than there are applicants. Therefore, to reduce any obstacles towards an education, under the Hope Scholarship Grant, you can attend for free. See your high school counselor for more information.

One last thing: have you taken all 3 of my classes and passed? If so, you are now also able to get articulated credits through Central Georgia Technical College. Forward your transcripts to them and receive credit for 3 of their courses.

Rest in Peace Port Authority Police Officer Anthony Varvaro, E.O.W. 9/11/2022.
Police Officer Varvaro was struck and killed by a wrong-way driver early Sunday morning as he was reporting for a detail assignment at the World Trade Center 9/11 Ceremony. Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti said, in a statement released by the Port Authority PBA,
"The Port Authority PBA is shocked and saddened by the death of Port Authority Police Officer Anthony Varvaro, who was killed by a wrong-way driver while he was driving to his assignment as a member of the PAPD World Trade Center 9/11 Ceremony detail. Anthony’s life was taken from us as he prepared to honor the lives of the thirty-seven Port Authority police officers who perished on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center. Police Officer Anthony Varvaro will always be honored and never forgotten. Anthony’s wife and four children will remain in our hearts and will forever be a part of the PAPD Family.”
Prior to Anthony’s distinguished service to the people of New York, New Jersey and the millions using Port Authority facilities, he was a Major League Baseball pitcher with the Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox.
Police Officer Varvaro served with the Port Authority Police Department for approximately six years. He was 37 years old and is survived by his wife and four children.
Anthony, rest in the Lord's eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.
