Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting the Henderson State University TRIO Upward Bound program at ACHE!
The students explored our Simulation Lab and participated in a game called “Barnga,” which highlighted the challenges of communication and cultural differences, as well as the importance of empathy and adaptability. They also engaged in a CSI-style activity using bone models used in our Modeling Lab.
During an interactive lunch-and-learn session, the students connected with current ACHE students and gained insight into our programs, student life, and careers in healthcare. Our faculty spoke to them about the fields of physical therapy and occupational therapy, and more. Additionally, the students spent a day at the ACHE RIHWC, participating in fun hands-on cooking and ceramics classes!
We extend our gratitude to the Henderson State University TRIO Upward Bound program and Dr. Cindy Fuller for organizing this memorable experience. We enjoyed sharing what ACHE has to offer and hope to see these future healthcare professionals again soon!
