Thank you so much to everyone that came to our STEAM Night! We had such a wonderful turnout! Thank you also to our Cook Team that put it all together and ran the engaging STEAM activities! Thank you to The Dog Pound band that performed throughout the event! You were awesome! Thank you Rheem for bringing the VR fun! Thank you to Grace Community Church and Cook Booster Club for the nachos and ice cream! Thank you also to the great Southside volunteers that helped us make things run smoothly! Team work makes the dream work!

We had a wonderful time hosting Bring Your Legislator to School Day today as we welcomed Rep. Jay Richardson, Superintendent Mr. Mahan, FSPS School Board members Brittney Hall and Susan Krafft, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Bone, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Minton, and Director of Elementary Education Dr. Starr! They visited Mrs. Franklin's 4th grade class, Mrs. Davis's 3rd grade class, and Mrs. Collyge's 1st grade class. They also visited Mrs. Priester's pre-k class at breakfast. Sawyer Cournyer and Kade Tidwell are 2 of our Cook Student Ambassadors that greeted our guests this morning. Mr. Mahan presented Sawyer, Kade, Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Collyge, Mrs. Sandifer, and Dr. Childress with Superintendent's Coins! We appreciate the opportunity to showcase our school for Rep. Jay Richardson, and we appreciate his time and dedication to education!

We are so excited about STEAM Night! We will have LIVE music! Mrs. Katie Shores, one of our fabulous teachers, will be singing with the band that she is a part of, The Dog Pound (They are donating their time and talents!), Grace Community Church is providing nachos, Cook Booster Club is providing ice cream and serving the nachos and ice cream, and our teachers will have fun STEAM Activities spread out throughout the building for families to enjoy together! We can't wait to see everyone!

We had so much fun surprising Colton Jones with the Superintendent's Star Student Award today! FSPS School Board President, Phil Whiteaker, Superintendent Mr. Martin Mahan, Dr. Childress, and Colton's family all surprised him in his classroom!
