To make up instructional time due to inclement weather, FSPS will add 12 minutes to the school day from March 2, 2026 – May 21, 2026.

Last week we celebrated two AMAZING staff members at Orr Learning Academy. Ms. Seanna Pitsch was voted Classified staff member of the year, and Ms. Allison Hart was voted Certified staff member of the year. Orr Learning Academy is so honored and very proud to have both of you on the Phoenix team!!!

We’ve had our fill of snow ❄️⛄ Now we’re ready for backpacks, buses, and busy hallways! Classes resume on Monday, February 2nd. See you soon, FSPS!

Because of prolonged, hazardous road conditions as a result of the winter storm last weekend, Fort Smith Public Schools and district offices will be closed on Friday, January 30. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority as we make decisions during inclement weather.

Please stay tuned for a special video message from Superintendent Martin Mahan that will be posted on the district’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

At this time, we anticipate conditions improving tomorrow to allow for some afterschool activities. Friday’s school board meeting will be rescheduled.

At this time, we anticipate schools being open on Monday. If something changes, we will notify you on Sunday.
