Northside High School JROTC - The Grizzly Battalion

The Northside High School Grizzly Battalion would like to extend a sincere thank you to two outstanding community partners who helped us take care of our Cadets during the Annual Grizzly Meet at Fort Chaffee in February 2026. A special thank you to Pizza Parlour (8901 Rogers Ave, Fort Smith) for their generous support and helping ensure our Cadets and volunteers were well fed during this demanding competition weekend. We also want to recognize the Mulberry Community Food Pantry for stepping up to support our program and the hundreds of young leaders who traveled to Fort Chaffee to compete. The Grizzly Meet brought together nearly 600 Cadets from multiple states to compete in Drill, Raider, and Air Rifle events, and it takes a strong community to support an event of this scale. Your generosity and commitment to supporting young leaders does not go unnoticed. On behalf of the Cadets, instructors, and volunteers of the Northside High School Grizzly Battalion, thank you for helping make this year’s Grizzly Meet a tremendous success.

On Saturday, November 9th, the Northside High School Grizzly Battalion JROTC proudly marched in the Fort Smith Veterans Day Parade at Chaffee Crossing, honoring the brave men and women who have served our nation.
We are grateful for the opportunity to show our respect, represent Northside with pride, and celebrate the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines our veterans.

The Drone Team is in Murphy, Texas this morning at this years first Drone Competition! The Flying Grizzlies and the Flying Bears have worked and practiced hard! We are hoping for a great outcome by the end of the day!

A huge thank you to Mr. Jackie Davis for coming by and donating several pairs of safety glasses to the JROTC program! Thank you for your commitment to the community!

Jim Rowland River Valley Run!

This morning, more than 100 Cadets from the Northside High School JROTC Grizzly Battalion participated in the annual Jim Rowland River Valley Run — demonstrating leadership, dedication, and community spirit. We’re proud of every Cadet who showed up and represented the Grizzlies with pride!

It’s truly amazing to see how each of these cadets excels in so many areas—academics, leadership, music, community service, and more—while continuing to represent the Grizzly Battalion with pride, dedication, and excellence!
