I know October feels like it’s still a little ways away, but we all know it will be here before we know it! 🧡

We are excited to announce that Sunnymede Elementary will be hosting our Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 30th from 6:00–7:30 PM! 🎃🍬

We are looking for families, community members, and local businesses who would be interested in decorating a trunk and handing out candy to our Sunnymede kids! 🚗👻

If you’re interested in setting up a trunk, we ask that you arrive between 5:00–5:30 PM to allow plenty of time to get parked, decorated, and ready before the fun begins.

✨ This is a FREE event for our Sunnymede students and families! ✨

Last year was an absolute BLAST, and we can’t wait to make this year even bigger and better! 🎃🧡

What an honor to celebrate the dedication of Jaylin Williams Court! 🏀❤️ Our Sunnymede Principal and School Nurse were proud to be part of this special day honoring a Fort Smith native whose hard work, humility, and dedication continue to inspire our students and community. Congratulations, Jaylin!

What an AMAZING Teacher Appreciation Week for our Sunnymede teachers! 💙🐾

This week, Sunnymede PTA was able to spoil our staff with:
🌯 A fajita bar from El Olvido loaded with all the fixings
🥪 A sub, veggie, dip & chip bar
🍩 Donuts and orange juice
🌭 A chili/cheese bar with hot dogs and nachos
🍽️ Plus so many delicious dishes and treats brought in by our wonderful families!

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from the families who continue to show up for Sunnymede PTA. Every event you attend, every membership, every donation, and every helping hand truly makes a difference. THANK YOU for helping us love on our teachers and staff the way they deserve!

With that being said… 🎉
We are officially starting PTA sign-ups for the 2026-2027 school year, and we would LOVE for you to join our team!
One thing we really want parents to know is this: PTA does NOT have to be overwhelming. You do NOT have to commit to every single event or meeting. Our PTA is all about helping when you can — no pressure and absolutely no judgment. Whether you can volunteer once a year or every month, we are thankful for any help you’re able to give.

Our goal is to build a fun, supportive team so we can make next school year even bigger and better for our kids and families! 💙

Another huge goal for PTA next year is finding more ways to support and improve things for our students — things like new playground balls, equipment, student activities, and more. If you have ideas, we would LOVE to hear them!
