Summer Care is off to a great start! 🌞

We are finalizing our 2026-2027 staff and we are so excited that God brought us Mrs. Emily Werner!

She will be our new 3rd Grade teacher. Help us welcome her to our family!

Here's a short bio from Mrs. Werner:
My name is Emily Werner, and I am excited to join 1st Lutheran School next year as a 3rd Grade Teacher. I have taught in Oklahoma for six years, with experience ranging from 1st through 6th Grade. I believe every child deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and valued. I strive to create a positive environment where students are excited to learn with confidence. Building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues is very important to me, and I look forward to meeting everyone soon.

Outside of school, I am married to my husband, Jay, and we have two boys, Grey and Wells. Being a mom is my greatest joy. I love to read, spend time outside, and travel. Faith is a very important part of my life, and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work in a school community where Christ-centered values are lived out daily.

I am truly thankful that God has led me to this opportunity, and I cannot wait for the year ahead!

🇺🇸Every year, our 1st graders visit the Fort Smith National Cemetery the last week of school to place flags for Memorial Day.

It's such a special time honoring these veterans and remembering the sacrifices they made for us. ❤

Today was Move Up Day for our students! ⬆️

Our classes got to all go up to the next grade and visit with their teacher for next year! While this happened, 5th grade went back to Kindergarten to visit and enjoy time being a kid just a little longer! 💙
