Our 4th and 5th graders created art that was dropped off today at the symphony for their Earquake program. The students each picked one “adventure “ (sea quest, space odyssey or dance battle) and listened to the music provided by the symphony while they created abstract works of art. The goal was to see sound and hear visual art.

Their work will be on display October 5th and 6th at the Fort Smith Symphony located at the ArcBest Performing Arts Center.

Chapel Buddies is one of our favorite programs! 🩵

What is a chapel buddy? A chapel buddy is someone you spend time with weekly in your classroom and who you sit with during chapels and other school events.

We pair our older students up with our younger students and build relationships in classes they wouldn't normally be involved with. Our older students take on the responsibility of caring for our littles and reading to them weekly. Our younger students benefit by having one-on-one time with a big kid and learning from them.

We have alumni come back all the time and mention who their Chapel Buddy was and how they still keep up with them! It's a long-standing tradition at 1st Lutheran to build character and deepen relationships.

Look at those excited faces! 🤩

Our students have been raising money through chapel offerings for Lutheran missionaries, Anita and Jon Clausing, serving in East Africa.

Their seminary in Tanzania is training pastors and they were in need of a portable battery-operated speaker for worship services. The goal was $350!

We have already reached that goal with a month still left in the quarter! 🎉

We want to keep bringing in offerings so we can bless them even more, so make sure to send your offerings in each week.
